Welcome to my review of the final leg, 2 of 2, back to Heathrow from Frankfurt. And as we flew in from CDG, we parked very close to Lufthansa's retro Super Star livery. I naturally had to get a close-up look!

It was then time to connect through the airport and unwind in the Lufthansa lounge.

To get to the lounge, I passed through border control. The female Bundespolizei agent was very mad with how CDG had stamped my passport and spent several seconds shaking her head saying "What a waste of space!". I love the efficiency of the Germans.

For me at Frankfurt, it was time to upgrade me lounge game thanks to my American Express Platinum Card. I had access to the standard Business Class lounge but Global Lounge Collection from Amex allows me access to the Senator Lounge, so long as I'm travelling on a Business Class ticket with any LH group airline.

The design is really nice, with lots of seating space and dimmed lighting. It has a real premium feel to it.

There's also a fabulous bar for cocktails and drinks.

Not to mention great airside views. The Condor striped planes have been stalking me this week! You wait all year to see one and see three in one trip!

There's also a formal dining area in the Senator Lounge, too.

Plus complimentary magazines…

…and very clean toilets and shower rooms.

All with signature L'Occitane amenities.

The food and drink offering was vast with a variety of hot and cold snacks, heartier eats and a great selection of alcohol.

The Ziegler Avionic spirit stand was also available, definitely give it a whirl if you haven't tried it, especially if you like a Negroni or anything slightly bitter.

For me though, it was the Frankfurter Apfelwein. One of my favourites!

And it really is delicious just as it comes, on ice! You can also enjoy it with lemonade or soda.

I also had a small eat of some chicken goujons with the famous Frankfurt Grüne Soße (a sauce traditionally made combining seven specific herbs like parsley, chives, chervil, borage, sorrel, garden cress, and salad burnet, all mixed with sour cream, oil and vinegar). It's divine!

I then headed to the gate in order to board my flight back to London Heathrow but there didn't seem to be much activity going on and time was ticking!

A bunch of agency workers then made all passengers queue to have their documents checked before giving us these little paper slips to confirm we had been seen. I asked if we could now put our passports away and was told not to do so as they would be needed and inspected for a second time during the boarding process. This all felt a little superfluous and actively delayed our departure.

Flying us back to London Heathrow this afternoon however, is this Airbus A320neo. Doesn't she look great!

I was sat on the front bulkhead row in seat 1F, by the window. We also had a far newer version of the Lufthansa business class seat.

The legroom was reasonable and the seat was comfortable!

We then taxied to the take-off, ever so slightly behind schedule.

Ahead of us I caught this Queen of the Skies roar out of FRA. It really did kick out both some noise and some rumbling. What a sight!

And behind the 747 was us, I was expecting a hefty amount of wake turbulence but the climb out was actually quite smooth.

And as glum as it was underneath those clouds, it's always a beautiful bluey-skied, sunny day up here.

The menu was then served and the meal service began.

Another fine spread from Lufthansa. The catering on both legs in business class has seriously impressed me. Bravo!

The main course was a vulcano pork neck ham with a trio of pumpkin, roasted celery cream (which was hummus-like in texture) and topped with pumpkin seeds and pickled shallots. It was another fine main course offering from LH.

This was served with a cheese-topped tiger-style white roll served with cultured butter.

Dessert was a chocolate mousse enrobed in chocolate and hazelnuts. Think a Ferrero Rocher in ice cream form!

I opted for a glass of fresh orange juice.

And a cup of tea to end the service…

…which was accompanied by an opening of the Lufthansa chocolate box!

The toilets were fairly clean, minus some rogue toilet tissue. They were again for the exclusive use of business class passengers with the two toilets at the rear being nominated for economy passengers.

And as hard as the flight crew had worked to claw back their delay, they were rumbled by Heathrow's air traffic control who put us into an extended hold owing to high-traffic numbers.

But when you have sights like this, it's never a dull hold over London!

I always get a little bit giddy when landing into Heathrow. Especially on days like this. You really do feel "home" when you start to see the sights of the capital.

And I also caught the second half of Brentford vs. Brighton. Probably not best to mention that they lost 2-0 to Brighton.

And that was it, we were down. Thanks for reading the review of my double-legged journey in Lufthansa's business class from Paris Charles de Gaulle to London Heathrow (via Frankfurt). As always, I'll catch you next week.
