This trip report is from Sept 2025. Previously I had flown to Darwin, refer the flight report -
Jetstar JQ691 Gold Coast ✈ Darwin
I wanted to visit parts of Australia that you rarely see on the internet. This trip report is part of the Lap of Australia roadtrip.
Booking
I booked this ticket from the Air North website: https://www.airnorth.com.au/
Prices are high on this route as there is not much competition.

Arriving at the airport
I stayed in Darwin for a day to take rest.

Arrived at the airport on time. Walking towards the terminal.

Departures and Arrivals are connected.

Check-In
Reached the check-in kiosk, ground staff was around to assist with check-in process.

Followed the screen information and printed boarding pass and baggage tag.

With the baggage dropped, I was free to walk around.

Being a small airport, there is no rush. Most relaxed way to travel.

Security check
It was close to boarding time, I headed for security, which didn't take long.

After completing security, escalator to upper level. I have travelled through Darwin before, you read the report here - Alliance Airlines QF1960 Darwin to Alice Springs.

Boarding
When I reached the gate, boarding had commenced.

I organised my things and walked towards gate.

Boarding pass was scanned and was allowed to continue towards aircraft.

With passengers settled, aircraft was ready. Boarding was completed on time.

Door was closed. Pilot and crew welcomed passengers.

Ground crew disembarked.

Flight prepared for departure.

Pushback and Taxi
Safety demonstration was conducted by crew. Pushback commenced shortly after.

A long taxi followed to runway.

Aircraft attained cruise altitude. With no entertainment on board, best seat on the plane.

Kununurra airport terminal in view.

Stopover
Aircraft stops in Kununurra for 30 mins on route to Broome.
Since Northern Territory is 1h30m ahead, aircraft arrives 30mins after departure local time. It also messes the phone photo timestamp.
Kununurra passengers deboarded after the doors was opened. Broome bound passengers remained on board.
