Introduction
This trip report is from Sept 2025. I had flown from Sydney to Newcastle, refer the flight report - FlyPelican FP212 Sydney to Newcastle
I had exited the arrival terminal and after a short walk reached the departure terminal.

I booked this flight on the Jetstar Australia website - https://www.jetstar.com/
I'm not a member and paid regular price.

I chose the seat while booking the ticket.
Meal option, I didn't chose.

Check-in
Check-in is located immediately after entry. As I had checked online, I had to drop bag.
Check-in view as I was early there was no queue.
As every where, car parking is charged.

I completed check-in in no time and entered security check.
Security was quick as there was no queue. Entered the departure area after security.

Area got full with passengers before boarding.

I decided to have food before boarding.
Potato wedges, sweet sour chilli sauce with mayonnaise and beer.
After meal, I noticed passengers queued and weighing their carry-on bags.
I joined the queue and got my bag weighed. Ground staff tagged the bag.

I checked Flightradar24 to find the aircraft location and details. JQ495 was on approach and would be landing soon.

Inflight
After departure, aircraft flew in Northern direction. Cabin view as light turned on.
Cabin service was Buy on Board.
Seat view as I rested on the flight.
Being a new aircraft, streamed entertainment was available. I didn't check.
Pilot informed that aircraft was commencing descend. After turning West and then South, view of the Surfers Paradise.

Aircraft landed on runway 14-32, followed by a short taxi to parking bay in front of the terminal.

Thanks for the review. A pretty stock standard flight on Jetstar. Though as usual $126 AUD for a seat for a 1 hour flight is far to much. In saying this that price is till far cheaper than what you'll get flying Virgin, let alone Qantas.
Domestically Jetstar offers slightly cheaper fares than the competitors. Only if TigerAir had survived then it would have been an alternative to JQ.
2012 to 2016 was best time to flying in Australia.
