Today's journey starts in a very hot Muscat, Oman.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185459

The airport is easily located and very modern. I was very impressed.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185519

Upon arrival into Muscat, the taxi driver gifted me a glass platter of dates because it was Ramadan. So kind.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185539

Today, I'm flying Business Class so can utilise Oman Air's dedicated Business Class check-in lane.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185609

It was empty and I had it all to myself.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185623

Oman Air is part of the Oneworld alliance, and I booked my tickets through the British Airways Club.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185834

This cost me 68,500 Avios and £72.90 in taxes and fees, one-way.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185639

Muscat International Airport smells beautiful, thanks in no small part to these Oliban infuser machines that pump the terminal full of wonderful scents!

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185700

I then decided to visit the Oman Air business class lounge located on the Upper Floor above Duty Free.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185709

It's a very grand entrance and the staff were very friendly.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185724

There's plenty of seating areas and the lounge is designed in wonderful marble and golden tones.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185733

There's also a formal dining setting if you wish to sit and eat.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185800

I went for some Omani coffee and dates…

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185819

…and a Fruit Trifle (or a Oman Air called it, a Fruit Truffle!).

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185858

There's a grand outdoor viewing platform inside the lounge but sadly this was closed on the day of my visit.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185909

The toilets were very clean and had a cotton hand towels. A nice touch.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185921

I then began to drift off in my seat so the lovely lounge staff escorted me to a private cabana room and said they would wake me when the flight was boarding.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185934

What stellar service!

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-185945

The rooms also feature a small snack bar and some drinks, too.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190011

Today's aircraft over to Paris Charles de Gaulle is this Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190023

After a short wait, we were down the air bridge and ready to board.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190037

The forward cabin is in a 1/2/1 seating formation with 14 rows.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190103

And my seat was set in the private 'row of 4' cabin, set behind the first cabin. I was in 15A, the window seat.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190242

It can feel a little inpersonal at first due to the proximity of the adjacent seat, but stay tuned for the privacy divider later in the review.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190255

I was given a hot towel…

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190309

…and a glass of Oman Air's signature lemon and mint juice. This was divine!

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190322

Finally, on pushback, I was served a small cup of Omani coffee and a date.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190333

We then departed for Paris.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190342

As you can see, the legroom is nothing short of spectacular. The space in this seat really does come into it's own in the air!

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190400

Once the seatbelt sign was de-illuminated, I raised the privacy divider which creates a much more private space.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190420

It's also so evident we're in oil country, on account of the numerous oil rigs you fly over on your departure out of Muscat.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190438

I was served a lemon and mint juice and a selection of mixed nuts which consisted of cashews, pistachios and almonds.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190457

Oman Air's "Aria" in-flight entertainment system has a whole host of content.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190516

The remote did however, operate with a large amount of lag.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190536

And the noise cancelling headphones also didn't do a great job of cancelling out the background noise.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190600

My tray table was then laid with a tablecloth which indicated the start of service.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190628

A flurry of items soon arrived including…

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190637

A selection of warm Omani flatbread.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190645

A mint and pomegranate labneh.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190654

And a beetroot and capsicum pepper salad.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190721

I was then served the lamb sambusa with coconut mint chutney. These were also fantastic and very crispy!

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190739

The final addition to the incredibly large starter service was this Papluo Omani fish soup with line caught fish, tomato, turmeric and lime juice.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190747

That's what I call a pretty impressive starter service!

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190820

My main course arrived shortly afterwards and I opted for the Makbus Dijaj. A culmination of spiced rice, oven roasted chicken, spices and a kachumber salad.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190858

Finally, dessert was Masoub. A banana date pudding with almonds, mascarpone and honey. It was beautiful!

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190909

The business class cabin benefit from their own toilets. They're slightly larger than those in economy and were very clean.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190931

There were also complimentary Oman Air branded shaving and dental kits.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-190949

Not to mention branded amenities from Omani brand, Amouage.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-191110

I returned to my seat only to find that the crew had brought me a glass of Sauternes to round-off the first meal service. What a gesture!

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-191125

I then needed a lie down so made the seat into the fully lie flat bed mode. I was really impressed with the comfort levels and also the length. I dare say you could be nearly 7ft and lie down comfortable in this bed.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-191138

And it didn't take me long to drift off!

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-191154

I woke up to a fresh carcadet (hibiscus) juice.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-191212

Alongside a moroccan sweet tea and cantucci biscuit.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-191223

We then stated to lose the light and the sun began to set as weren't too far off from Paris Charles de Gaulle.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-191302

The final meal service was 'on request' but the crew proactively asked all passengers if they wished to dine again. It was an afternoon tea setup with a selection of sandwiches, a slice of quiche, two scones with fig jam and fresh cream and a warm chocolate and walnut brownie loaf.

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-191312

I also opted for the green juice which was suggested by the crew. It was awful, and they got a lovely giggle watching me try it!

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-191335

And that wraps up my Oman Air business class experience…

photo screenshot-2026-05-03-at-191355

We touched down into CdG slightly ahead of schedule and overall, it was a fantastic experience. I'd have no trouble recommending Oman Air.

Thanks, as always, for reading and watching. See you next week!

Conclusion

Business class again? Yes! I’m flying with Oman Air from Muscat International Airport to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, and it might just feature the biggest bed I’ve ever had on a plane.

Oman Air is one of the newest members of the Oneworld alliance, and their premium cabin has long had a reputation for being something a little special. From the private Business Class check-in wing at Muscat, to the Oman Air lounge, spacious seat, onboard service and dining, this flight offers a fascinating look at one of the Middle East’s most underrated airlines.

But does the experience live up to the hype?

  • Thanks for the review! I was lucky enough to fly with them in November, the 787 bed really is industry-leading in terms of size and open space. My only complaint was that most of their flights are no longer than 8 hours long...
