AIRPORT
This was the first view of the airport and we went through a security gate check.

These were the local taxis and we took them everywhere while we were here. It was super fun and they were really affordable if you knew how to negotiate, you should never just go at the first price given.

The airport was pretty clean and there was not ta many people. It was a little hard to find security, you definitely have to follow the signs.

I was super surprised to see a Bangkok airways ticket booth, so I guess you can buy tickets at the airport if you are really in a rush.

There was a surprising amount of planes here for the amount of people there were.

We had to take a bus to the aircraft so this was the first look at it. It is always fun to take a bus but there was really nothing to see as because at this point we were the only plane at this airport. One cool thing about this aircraft is that there is a cargo section in between the passenger cabin and the cockpit so that is why you have to board from the back. This was a pretty old aircraft with it being almost 20 years old, so we will see how the cabin is.
FLIGHT INFORMATION:
Airline: Bangkok Airways
Aircraft: AATR-72
Registration: HS-PPB
Age: 19.5 years
Flight Time: 30 min
Seat: 6F
From: Krabi Airport (KBV)
To: Koh Samui Airport (USM)

It was so weird being the only plane here, felt like a post apocalyptic scene.

This was so cool to walk up to the aircraft, it really show how big they are.

There were so many ground crew here trying to get this aircraft ready for departure.

CABIN
The cabin was in a 2-2 layout and did not look to bad on first glance.

SEAT
I was sitting in seat 6F a window seat on the right side of the aircraft next to the engine. The was not to bad in comfort, it was fine for a very short 45 minute flight like this one. The back of the seat had a literature pocket with a menu, magazine, and waste bag. There was also a tray table and a very small seatback pocket that could not fit very much. The leg room was a little tight though. Above the seat each passenger had a personal reading light and air vent.

This little button is how you recline the seat.

This was our GREAT view outside the window!

TAKEOFF
After we pushed back we had a super speedy taxi and were cleared right onto the runway. We had a brief stop at the end of the runway and launched off towards Koh Samui!

After takeoff I headed to the back to check out the lav before the service started. On the left side of the aircraft next to the lav there was a little cargo area where the crew kept some extra supplies.

LAVATORY
The lavatory felt like a blast from the past from the way the sink looked. It was very clean but very cramps as I expected. Everything worked pretty well but ideally should should be fine for short flights like this.

SERVICE
I could not believe that they actually had a "full" service on a 45 minute flight let alone on a domestic flight. The flight attendants started service like 8 minutes after takeoff with trays of boxes. Each passenger was handed one of these boxes and a COLD bottle of water. The box contained a corn roll, chicken bolognas tart, and grape juice. The corn roll was literally a roll with corn in it and the bolognas tart was a tart with bolognas in it. Both of those were not very good but the grape juice was not bad. I was just surprise that they had this. Almost right after service they came around with trash bags collecting all of it. After that we were already descending into Koh Samui

LANDING
The landing was a little rough because it was a pretty small runway but nevertheless we made it!

AIRPORT
Welcome to Koh Samui! This airport is really cool because it is a completely outside airport. The terminal is just a lot of cabanas covering the area. After you park on one of the 8 remote stands you take a little tram to one of the loading areas (Gates). This whole airport was built and is operated by Bangkok airways. Only one other airline fly's in from Singapore (Scoot). It was super cool!

I could not believe how close I was to this A319!

Thank you so much for reading!
Nice review! I've wanted to try Bangkok Airways for years. I've been to Thailand several times, but never had the opportunity yet--hopefully next time! The service is just incredible for a 45 flight on an ATR! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! It was very cool, next time you are there you definitely have to try it out!
