Good Morning from Split.
I'm at my bus stop waiting for Bus Nr2 to take me the Airport for the short hop to Zagreb and on to Zurich.
Split is a really small airport so I planned to arrive shortly before my flight.
Today's ride would be 9A-CQE, a 16 y/o DHC-8-400 Dash 8Q named "Zagorje", which is my first time onboard a turboprop and I am really excited.
The bus ride to the airport took 1h, as we were delayed.
Airport
Split Airport is very small but also very efficient.
Though I did not like that all passengers could use all counters and there was no distinction between airlines. Also, there was a single Priority Desk for all.
I did not have any luggage so I just picked up the boarding pass for my collection and headed to security. I showed staff my boarding pass and was let to the priority line.
Security was quick and efficient as nothing had to be taken out of the bag and I made my way to the lounge soon after.
Lounge
Now, the lounge has very bad reviews mainly due to rude staff and limited food options.
I do agree, the food options are bad. There are some packed sandwiches, sweets and nuts and drinks and that's it. But I can't say that the staff was rude, I actually found them quite friendly.
I went with a donut and a vodka-infused Pepi.
My main point of criticism is however, that there is are now power outlets to charge your phone, so I had to use my powerbank.
I decided to go for a second drink, whiskey cola, and after becoming drunk enough to stop overthinking every single choice I've made in my life so far, I made the choice to stop drinking. So i grabbed some nuts.
Boarding
I then headed to the gate area. We were delayed by 30mins due to late arrival of the incoming aircraft.
Soon after I arrived at the gate, boarding began. Since SPU does not have any jet bridges at all, we walked over the tarmac to the aircraft.
Flight
The flight itself was very short. The captain announced a flight time of 15mins, but it was 41min actually.
There was a beautiful ocean view after takeoff.
I also used the lavatory, which can be described in a single word: tiny.
But it did its job.

Meal service consisted of a cup of water.
Landed
We arrived at the remote stand at 14:40, 25mim behind schedule.
We were then bussed to the terminal, where we arrived ar 14:54. I know have have a 3h connection, which is really long for that airport.
