I am flying from Zagreb to Hamburg on Croatia Airlines´ A220 in business class today. After spending the weekend in Zagreb it was time for me to head back home. I arrived at the airport nearly two hours before the scheduled time of departure and made my way through security. Using the fast lane was smooth and soon I was overlooking the departure area where several flights were boarding.

The way to the lower level leads you through a duty free shop that extends into a food court with plenty of opportunities.

I then made my way to the lounge where I spent some time before I headed to the boarding gate.

Our gate was 25A next to a KLM E195-E2 heading to AMS. Boarding soon began. The flight was well booked so I decided to board last as to allow the queue to get on board so I could sit down shortly before push back.

Today´s flight had just one row of business class making it feel quite cozy while the back was packed.

We soon taxied out for departure from RWY 04. Take off was into north easterly direction

Soon after, the crew handed out drinks and a meal I had pre-ordered. Unless you choose one of the many complementary special meals available in business class, you get a box, which is actually quite good quality and contains delicacies from around Croatia. Since most people opt for the food in the lounge and skip eating on board, the box serves a a nice takeaway- especially considering that most of Croatia Airlines´ flights are quite short.

80 minutes into the flight we started our descent and made an on time arrival onto RWY23.

One last look at our A220 with the sun symbolically concluding a good flight.
