Started a new job last year and I'm taking my first long holiday! Two weeks in Japan yet again. I just can't get enough of the place and I'm travelling mostly alone for the first time. I chose Japan Airlines because I wanted to fly in at a good time and maximize the time I had in Japan.

Arrived early as my mother sent me to the airport for this trip. A bit too early for my 2am flight as I arrived at 11pm so I had a couple of hours to burn. Still coming straight from work, I was keen to get on the plane as quickly as possible so I can catch some shut-eye.

Checked-in once my friend came and quickly crossed immigration. As it was close to midnight, most of the stores were closed or closing so I went directly to the gate to rest.

Obligatory shot of the boarding pass.

Gate is opened promptly at 1:20am and I make my way in. Also, a shot of the beautiful 777-200. She may be old but she has aged gracefully.

The waiting area is comfortable but there isn't a toilet inside.

Boarding commences and it is strictly enforced by rows. No rushing here. The cabin is lit with a nice, comforting mood lighting.

Let's have a look at the seat. It's nice and comfortable with good legroom. There are many pockets for all your gadgets and knickknacks too (just don't forget them after the flight). I must say this is one of the better seats so far.

Seat POV. You can see the MAGIC-VI entertainment system of JAL. It's pretty excellent too but we'll get to that shortly.

Let's have a look at the flight map. JAL are now also using the GeoVision as well and it's a great system I think. Detailed flight maps and information.

The captain announces door closure after the last passenger boards and we are off!

Decided to take a quick toilet break so I can sleep once the lights go off. The toilets are large and clean, as expected from them.

On to the MAGIC-VI system. Many different entertainment options to suit everyone. I decided that "Dunkirk" would be the movie to put me to sleep.

And as expected, I knocked out the moment the lights went off and drifted off into a deep slumber. Woke up just as we were passing over the Philippines and the crew were beginning breakfast service. A hot oshibori was served before the meal. Catering was decent but I've never been a big fan of continental breakfasts on flights. Everything just seems so soggy.

After the meal, I took the opportunity to document the seat-back contents.

The sun has now risen. Over Okinawa as the crew begins clearing up the trays and offering any last drinks,

Poor visibility means no view of Mount Fuji on our final approach.

Touchdown in Haneda. We can see the plane's interesting 3-4-2 configuration.

Disembarkation complete. In Japan and the holiday begins!

What a doobie-doobie report for this JL flight (in contrast to the doobie-doobie AA2527 BOS-DFW). There 4:35 in Premium Eco, here 6.20 flight time in Economy. I agree if someone doesn't like doobie-doobie. But the rating of 7 out of 10 I consider doobie-doobie under these conditions (unlike Bisoff cookies at AA in Premium Eco). By my doobie-doobie, JL is rated in the rest of correctly high doobie-doobie. Despite doobie-doobie a doobie-doobie. Thank you.
Hi Sotto,
Thanks for reading my report. I'm not sure I understand some portions of your comment but if you could clarify, I'd be willing to answer them.
FiamaArin
I find your FR doobie-doobie and i have nothing to doobie-doobie about this. I just wanted to doobie-doobie the extremely different doobie-doobie, especially the doobie-doobie of the different FRs and I have recently selected the quoted doobie-doobie as an example. nothing else
Jeez again with the fast food breakfasts despite what's available for purchase on AA domestic in economy is substantially higher quality.
Hi FiamaArin,
Very nice report, well illustrated and well written. JAL is one of the few carriers left that still makes an effort to offer a good passenger experience in Economy. These Y seats are very comfortable in my experience, and service is top notch for Economy.
Glad you enjoyed your flight on JAL and thanks for sharing!
