Welcome to this trip report of my first leg from Vienna to Doha in A320 business class.
The day began early catching the 6.42 am RailJet frrom Wien HBF to the airport. This was a 15 minute nonstop ride to the airport.

Check-in and security was quick and I grabbed coffee in the Sky Lounge which was not too crowded at that hour. Next, I cleared immigration and made by way down to the bus gates where we would be leaving from for today's flight.
Business class was called first and we made our way to the bus. It was cold and I had already put away my jackets. We waited a while in the bus while it fills up.
Business cabin was full and I settled in my seat for today 1F. We were offered pre-departure drinks and I opted for a fresh OJ. Amenity kits from Diptique were provided.

Menu was provided and our preference was noted. I opted to have my lunch about 2 hours after take off and skipped the pre-landing meal.
The Arabic mezze and prawn machkool were not that good. Not what Qatar is known for. The dessert though was delicious.

Overall, It was an average flight. seat was comfortable enough to sleep, though it was a pain to have no aisle access. Meals though were a disappointment. I had 4 hours of transit time to spend in the Al Mourjan north lounge - where I had some coffee and after weeks of travelling, some spicy asian food again.
My next leg was from DOH-BOM on a A350 Qsuite. I'll not bother writing another report of it as I only have some pics of the meals. The starter was inedible and returned after a bite. For desert the flight attendant kept offering me fruits only, Looked like both the options on the menu had run out. I asked if it was from economy cabin (its fine if it is) but was told no we can give as we have extra special meal. It was so bad - a room temperature chocolate mousse that tasted like whipped cream and was colored. Again sent back after a bite. The Qsuite itself is a hyped up product. The door for privacy was great, but the seat itself is not great for sleeping. the A320 seat was more comfortable for sleep.
The meals and service on both legs were a huge disappointment. I'm not sure why QR is so hyped. In all classes, I think EY and SQ do better in meals.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
I am still pretty impressed that they managed to do this kind of plating in the very small A320 galleys.
This review really lacks details. More kind of Instagram post than a flight report. Just compare with how much effort most other authors give.
