Hi,
Being on a short transfer at Frankfurt I quickly went to the Z gates pier of Terminal 1. Some nice views on the way to my gate.
Those Lufthansa 747-8s really look nice.
Boarding started quite on time and I was greeted by a friendly crew taking my nice seat on the 747 Upper deck.
Of course the Lufthansa product is old fashioned but still the seat was totally fine for such a daytime flight.
Water bottle and amenity kit were already placed at the seat.
Same as a nice pillow and blanket.
The headset is fixed in the center armrest.
Soon I was offered a pre-departure drink together with some nuts.
Next the menu was distributed.
We left our gate and soon took off for this 9hours 30 minutes flight to Florida.
A while into the flight service started with a hot towel.
Followed by an aperitif service where I took some Champagne.
Then the choices for the starter and main course were asked for.
The starter tray with salad and some bread was offered next - frequently followed by drink refills.
The main course is next:
Finishing the meal with a tasty dessert.
All in all the main meal was ok but no dish was really great. It did the job.
During the flight the friendly cabin crew passed by frequently and it was a nice atmosphere on the Upper deck.
Mid into the flight some small snacks were offered from a trolley.
Flying down from Canada towards the USA East Coast area.
About 1 hour 45 minutes out of Miami a second meal was served and there were two choices. I took the pasta. This meal was very tasty and actually better than the main lunch. A hot towel was offered as well.
A nice gesture: some nice farewell chocolate boxes were distributed.
We started our descend around heavy clouds and landed on time at Miami Airport.
