INTRODUCTION
Hello everyone,
Since I've made my Asian trip late in April I decided not to plan anything particular for my summer break. I decided to spend my two weeks of vacation in my family-house-by-the-sea in Abruzzo
By the way, at the end of July one of my best friends proposed me to make a weekend in Berlin in late August, with two other friends.
Being them in Milan and me near Bergamo we avoided searching Ryanair flights from MXP, while the ones from LIN (operated by easyJet) proved to be much more expensive
We ended up with this solution:

To the total each of us added a cabin baggage, bringing the price to 285 euros
Fortunately, I had received as birthday gift a 150-euro voucher
Therefore, I payed 135 euros only
We booked a nice hotel near Zoologischer Garten station, in Charlottenburg
ROUTING
Ryanair - Milan-Bergamo BGY > Berlin BER - Boeing 737-800
Ryanair - Berlin BER > Milan-Bergamo BGY - Boeing 737MAX 8

Some stats:
18th flight of 2025 (as of September)
Overall great-circle distance flown in 2025 (as of the reported flight): 30.060 km | 16.231 nm
First time on BGY-BER route
First time landing in BER
Third flight to Berlin in three different airports (SXF in 2014, TXL in 2019, BER in 2025)
BEFORE THE FLIGHT
The day before the flight I logged in on Ryanair's app to check-in
Even if I wanted to change my seat the plane was full, forcing me to "accept" a middle seat

THE FLIGHT
In order to catch the flight at 16:30 I asked for a work permit for the afternoon
Since my friends were coming directly from Milan we agreed to meet at the airport
I booked a convenient long-term parking located 2 km from BGY
I left home between 12:45 and 13:00. The ride from San Pellegrino to the parking took me 30-40 minutes
At 14:15 the shuttle bus from the long-term parking dropped me at Milan-Bergamo "Il Caravaggio" International Airport

The check-in hall was pretty busy, but having the cabin baggage only I went straight to the security check-point

The line was flowing, but the control itself was a bit slower than expected
It took me 15 minutes to clear the inspection
Fortunately a new expanded screening area will open at the end of 2025

Mandatory passage through the duty-free

The main departure lounge was pretty busy

The apron was in full activity

Usually operations are BGY are from east to west, but that day they were reversed due to wind
This Ryanair 737 was landing from Palermo-PMO

A Maersk Air Cargo 767F was sitting in the distance

Neos 737 landing from Kos-KGS

Iberia Regional CRJ1000 departing to Menorca-MAH

Georgian Airways 737-700 taxiing to the runway on its way to Tbilisi-TBS

A rain storm was approaching the airport from north

My gate was set for departure

AT 15:45, fifteen minutes before scheduled, the gate was opened

I love how close to the city BGY is
The view of the apron with "Città Alta" (upper town) in the background is always stunning

Aeroitalia Embraer-175 taking off to Ragusa Comiso-CIY

As we waited inside the glass bridge this Eurowings A320 aborted its landing from Hanover-HAJ

After waiting for a while inside the jetway we were bussed to the plane
We reached our stand half a hour after the first BPs were scanned
Our ride for today:
Ryanair Boeing 737-800 EI-EVN
First flight on 23rd March 2012 (13.4 years old at the flight day), it was delivered to Ryanair on April '12
It carries 189 passengers in full-Y configuration

The sky was getting darker and darker

The plane was 100% full, meaning I couldn't get any better seat

At 16:30, the scheduled departure time, doors were closed and armed

As boarding was coming to its end it started to rain copiously
The crew announced the departure was delayed untile further notice

One hour and fifteen minutes later than planned we left the stand
Outside the rain was still falling

Taking off eastward meant a very short taxi to the runway
AT 17:47, 77 minutes after scheduled, the engines went full power

The lady sitting at the window seat kept the blind closed for most of the flight
In general the ride was event-less and partially over clouds
One hour after leaving Bergamo the cabin was set for landing
Sun was setting in Berlin and the sky was clear
Landing from east, on runway 25R

At 19:08, 58 minutes on delay, we un-gently touched down at Berlin-Brandeburg Airport, named after Berlin Mayor and FDR Chancellor Willy Brandt

We vacate in no time (very rough braking) and in a few moments we reached Terminal 2 apron
Disembark started very quick
Lauda Motion A320 sitting next to our plane

Sun setting behind our bird and a CSA A319

Terminal 2 houses most of low-cost carriers at BER
It has no jet-bridges, only walking gates

The walk to the exit was pretty smooth
Since none of my friends had checked bags we made our way straight to the exit
Reaching the exterior 15 minutes after touching down

In a few minutes we walked to Terminal 1 where the railway station is located
The S9 train took around one hour to bring us to Zoologischer Garten station, 5 mins from hour hotel
Stay tuned for the return
