Hello everyone, welcome to the second part of the trip to Hungary. This report will cover the return flight from Budapest to Munich. This flight will be operated by Lufthansa CityLine. It has been many years since I fly with an CRJ900. In February 2025, Lufthansa announced that they are planning to close the CityLine and relocate to Lufthansa City Airlines. Except the CRJ900, the airline also operate A319.

The day before, we finished the online check-in and received our e-boarding pass. It was surprise for me because it showed that the boarding process only takes 15 minutes.

In the early morning of the departure day, I received an E-mail from Lufthansa that the flight was fully booked and they offered free of charge for the check of the carry-on baggage.

In the afternoon, I took the bus 100E shuttle bus from the city center to the airport. The journey took about 40 minutes and I arrived the airport at 14:48pm. Once I arrived, I looked for the FIDS and checked that the counters were located at terminal 2A which is used for flights inside the Schengen Area.

The check-in counters were mostly empty and I managed to check my luggage in no time. I had already check-in online the day before and stored the boarding pass in my mobile phone, so I rejected to have a paper boarding pass at the counter. Instantly I received an E-mail informing the information and status of my drop-off luggage.

Then I headed to the observation deck to do some plane spotting.

Helvetic Airways Embraer E195-E2, HB-AZI ready to fly back to Zurich as LX2255.

Austrian Airlines E190, OE-LWK was preparing its flight to Vienna as OS722.

We spent a few minutes there as there were not many planes on the apron. Then we passed the security checked at 15:14pm. The gate of my flight was not assigned yet.

After passing through the duty free shop, I found myself at the Sky Court.

Eventually we went to a restaurant and I ordered a club Sandwich. We spent about 50 minutes at the restaurant.

As the boarding time approach, I left the restaurant and headed to the gate. Today we would be departing from gate A1.

Our plane had already arrived from Munich. The CRJ900, D-ACNB was delivered to Eurowings in May 2009 and was transferred to Lufthansa Cityline in 2015. It carries the name Wermelskirchen. Currently, Lufthansa Cityline possess 23 CRJ900 planes.

Boarding was commenced at 16:53pm, the bus brought us to our plane. I was again in group 3 of the boarding sequence. It really made no different for the priority boarding, as we were packed in the same bus. One feature of the CRJ plane is that the front door is also used as the stairway.

My seat 20F. Once stepping in the cabin, I can feel instantly have compacted the plane was. The ceiling was pretty low, the overhead storage was almost at our eye level.

At 17:27pm, flaps were lowered for takeoff.

2 minutes before the schedule departure time, pushback was initiated.

There was a Lufthansa plane parked next to the runway for maintenance, but I could not identify the aircraft type from the distance.

At 17:32pm, we took off from runway 31L.

5 minutes after takeoff, I received a bottle of water from the cabin crew.

Then I visited the lavatory at the back. There is only one lavatory at the back, the other one is located in the front behind the cockpit.

The toilet flush was different from the press button we normally see nowadays, it was actuated by the mechanical knob.

The seatbelt sign was kept until 18:06pm, but it was turned on again 7 minutes later, when the captain announced that we were leaving the cruising altitude for the landing. By that time, we were flying over the north of Salzburg, about the entered the Germany border.

At 18:24pm, flaps were lowered for the descend.

4 minutes later, the flaps were lowered further for the landing.

At 18:30pm, we touched down on Munich Airport. Total flight time was one hour.

After a short taxing, we parked at gate G81. Next to us parked another Lufthansa Cityline CRJ900, D-ACNJ. This plane took me from Milan Malpensa to Hamburg back in 2012.

We disembarked the plane from the front door.
