Hello everyone, welcome to the flight report from Munich to Budapest with Lufthansa. In the first place we were considering taking the train to Hungary, but later we found that the difference between train and plane was just €30, so taking the plane seemed to be the better option.

On the day of flight we took the S-Bahn and arrived the airport at 9:20am.

Since we checked in online the day before and had our boarding pass stored on our phone, we headed straight to the security check.

It took us eventually 10 minutes to get through the security check.

We needed to take the people mover to the satellite terminal.

Once we arrived at the satellite terminal, I immediately spotted our plane. Lufthansa A320ceo, D-AIUP, originally delivered to Eurowings in October 2015, a few months later in March 2016 she was transferred to Lufthansa.

Our gate K20. The ground staff had not arrived yet. Our flight was code-shared with Air Canada, ANA, TAP Air Portugal and United Airlines.

Air Canada B777-300ER, C-FRAM was preparing its flight to Toronto as AC837.

Lufthansa A380, could not identify the registration.

Another Lufthansa A380, D-AIMH arrived from Bangkok in early morning. Then she would fly to Los Angeles at noon as LH452.

All Nippon Airways B787-9, JA873A Star war jet was departing to Tokyo Haneda.

After doing some plane spotting, I returned to the gate and wait there.

Boarding was started at 10:43am, I was in group 3 of the boarding sequence. We scanned our boarding pass on the automatic gate and we were good to go.

My seat 26F. Since we purchased the Light fare, the seat was assigned automatically by the system. I was lucky to have a window seat.

At 11:22am, the cabin was dimmed and we pushed back from the gate.

KM Malta Airlines A320neo, 9H-NEG just arrived from Malta Luqa.

Shortly before takeoff, the cabin light was dimmed.

Reaching the holding point for takeoff. I took a while because there were also many planes waiting for takeoff.

At 11:38am, we took off from runway 26L.


6 minutes after takeoff, FlyNet was available.


12 minutes after takeoff, a bottle of water was served.

15 minutes after the water was served, I received the chocolate from the crew. This summarised the onboard service.

The winglet of the A320ceo. At 12:06pm, our captain announced that we were currently flying at 31500 fleet, and we were about 30 minutes to landing. The weather in Budapest was cloudy.

At 12:18pm, descend was started.

We made a U-turn in the south-east of Budapest to align on the 31R runway for landing.


At 12:35pm we touched down on runway 31R. Total flight time was 56 minutes.


We parked at gate A04. Next to us parked another Lufthansa A320ceo, D-AIUA, ready to fly back to Frankfurt.
