A visual of my entire journey from Stockholm to Salt Lake City via JFK & DTW.

Introduction
I'm currently arriving from Stockholm, Sweden where I'll have a few hours here before my next flight to Detroit. My final destination though is Salt Lake City so I have two more flights today before getting home. Immigration control and TSA screening went smoothly and since I have Global Entry I was airside once again in 30 minutes or so.

Our next flight will be departing out of the A gates in terminal 4. This would be my first time departing from this part of terminal 4 (with DL that is).

Since we have about an our until our next flight begins boarding we decided to spend our time in the Sky Club in concourse A.

Delta Sky Club (Concourse A)

Luckily there was no queue when checking into the lounge.

The lounge is very nice but was quite busy at this time (apologies for the lack of lounge photos).

The lounge had a very nice and extensive selection of hot and cold items at the buffet station.

I went for some pesto pasta, ratatouille and steamed string beans.

Although the food doesn't look appetizing, it was in fact very delicious and flavorful.

After having s pleasant visit at the lounge, it was time to start heading over to our gate.

For this flight we'll be departing out of gate A14 which is at the very far end of concourse A.

Made it to our gate which has little to no seating in the area.

We were pretty much sharing a gate area with a Boston bound flight.

This boarding gate area also offers absolutely no views of our aircraft.

Boarding
Boarding began right on time and I boarded with comfort+ group.

Today I'm flying on N364NB, a nearly 21 year old Airbus A319-100 delivered to Northwest Airlines on June 27, 2003. Before becoming part of the Delta fleet after the merger on Nov. 11, 2009 where she has stayed ever since.

The aircraft is configured in a three class configuration with 12 domestic first class, 18 comfort+ and 102 main cabin seats for a total capacity of 132 seats. Seat map courtesy of aerolopa. As with my previous flight, me and my travel companion received a complimentary upgrade to comfort+.

My seat will me in the first row of comfort+ section, 10F.

Legroom here is fantastic. Seats in comfort+ normally offer 34" of pitch but since I'm in the first row and with no bulkhead wall in front it feels more like 37-38" at least, as much as first class IMO.

This seat also offers fantastic views of the wing and engine.

This A319 is powered by two CFM International CFM56-5A engines that can produce up to 26,500 pounds of thrust each.

Here comes a Delta connection (Republic Airways) Embraer E175LR arriving from Columbus (CMH); flight time: 1h 22m

The overhead panel consisted of both individual reading light and air vents.

Boarding is complete and today's flight load to Detroit is completely full at 100% capacity.

The flight attendant passed through the cabin offering complimentary headphones.

Here comes an Emirates A380-800 passing by behind us. EK operates two daily flights between JFK and Dubai operating the A380 on both flights.

You can see the immense size comparison between this babybus and the A380.

Pushback
We pushed back from the gate right on schedule.

Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-300(ER)

In front of us is a JetBlue Airbus A220-300 bound for Atlanta (ATL) and a Delta Boeing 767-300(ER) bound for Milan (MXP).

Takeoff
It is finally our turn for takeoff on runway 31L.

Until next time JFK!

Incredible views of both upper and lower Manhattan as we banked to the left shortly after takeoff.

Views of Long Island below.

Flying over the Hudson River near Peekskill, NY.

We eventually reached cruising altitude at 32,000ft.

Inflight service
About 30 minutes into flight the onboard service began. One of the perks of sitting in comfort+ is that it includes free alcohol.

Inflight entertainment
Since I'm in the first row, the PTV's are located in the armrest along with the tray table. Delta's IFE system, also called Delta Studio, has a good selection of movies, TV shows and music to choose from.

Plenty of content to keep one entertained especially on a flight of this short.

My absolute favorite part of any IFE is the interactive map which I have fun playing around with 😅.

The remainder of the flight went on very uneventful and spent it watching the beautiful scenery outside my window.

The sky began to clear once we began flying over Canada. We are briefly flying over the southwestern province of Ontario, Canada before reentering the US once again to land in Detroit.

Initial descent

Approaching DTW from the North before making a right hand turn to land from the south.

Today looks like it will be a spectacular afternoon to land into DTW.

Landing
We'll be landing on runway 3R.

Very smooth landing, welcome to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport!

Arrival at gate
We arrived at the gate only 10 minutes behind schedule.

I have a very tight connection here at DTW before my onward flight to SLC.

Last views of my A319 that brought me here from JFK, thanks for the safe and fun journey!

This concludes the trip report, thanks for reading!
