Next part of my journey in the US brings me back from Sioux Falls, SD to New Orleans, LA. The best combination arrival time / fare price goes this time to UA. Drawback is that I have to fly first to the west, Denver, before heading back east, and I will have a long waiting time in Denver. The positive side is that I will discover that somehow iconic airport of DEN, number one base of United in the country.

I arrive at the airport when the sun starts to rise. The views are magnificent after the snow storm we had the day before (more wind than snow though).

The car rental park is next to the terminal building. Good point.

I just bring the key back to the counter and I am already in front of the UA checkin.

… which I don't visit since I have no bag to check. It was just to show you the huuuuuge waiting time ;)
The security is on the second floor.

The TSA agent is very nice and we have some small talk (can't remember what exactly though; this had been for sure smaaaal talk).
Today's departures. The very early flights have been delayed due probably to the airport still being closed.

The Delta flight to Atlanta is one of the few US3 on mainline aircraft (with Dallas).

The waiting area is wide, comfy. Some seats are equipped with power sockets, but not all of them.

My flight is called exactly on time of boarding. The gate agent spends time to explain the boarding procedure. She wants to make our job right. This is nice to see but hey this is just a 76 seater ;)

I love how the destination is presented on the displays

The rest of the tarmac is pretty empty.

Jet bridge with (non red) carpet

It is so cold that the snow remains even inside.

The First section in 2-1

The Eco section in 2-2

For a classic economy seat the seat pitch is pretty good

We made a stop at the deicing station and off we go.

The views in South Dakota are beautiful. In Nebraska though the snow is quickly gone.

The app is excellent as stated in my other reports. Also the web browser WIFI connection is easy. Messaging is free. Other passes require payment. There is an online IFE to use on personal device.

The service arrives. In Economy the it is just one glass and the rest of the can is stored on the trolley to be used for the next passenger. As I am the only to take an AHA flavored sparkling water the flight attendant proposes me the complete can. This is sooooo generous, thanks mam!
The waffle is a delice.

After one more hour we start our descent towards DEN. First time for me in that part of the country.

Turbulences increase while descending

The last stage is really bumpy.

I need to correct my previous report. DEN is impressive as well as US airline base. I'm impressed though to see so many aircrafts with the old livery. I love the new one… but hate the old one. But I'm a blue person ;)

And finally I can see this so iconic structure. Love it.

The next report will relate if it's easy to connect in DEN. The UA system is very informative with a SMS that tells you what to do and how long you'll need for that.
