Let's go to the North! Direction Helsinki.
We are end of June and in northern Europe the sun will go down for just a few hours.
I had the choice between a few options to head to HEL but the cheapest and easiest one was by far with Lufthansa. The weeks before though the airline and the airport of Frankfurt were in the news for terrible congestions and stranded passengers. Let's see…
As I was going to the airport directly from work I decided to take the metro (U-Bahn) which is now a new option to join STR next to the S-Bahn.

Overall much less people than in the Sbahn. It seems, that option is still not well known and used.

The end stop is in the hotel zone of the airport and about 3min walk from the terminal. Good to have some exercise before 2 flights.

I arrived over the T3 which was not full at all.

I didn't stop at checkin as LH does not offer a free luggage in his Light Economy tarif in Europe even for Senator travellers. That is stingy LH!
At least the Fast Lane is accessable.

No lounge at STR anymore. The fire protection system is under renewal and all lounges are closed. AF/KL distribute 15€ vouchers, LH nothing/nada/nichts! That is stingy again.

So I waited in the general boarding area which is on the ground floor as we will have a bus to the aircraft as always on these regional airplanes

No real priority boarding (into the bus ;)

Our aircraft is a CRJ900 that is the classic type on the STR-MUC route.

And we left STR perfectly on time.

Take-off directly to the East, no change in direction at all and we are directly in Munich ;)

Beautiful day to fly today.

No service on this route. Just the BC passengers receive a small snack.

Welcome to MUC, home of most of the A350 and A340-600 of the airline.

The cabin is so small that carry ons do not fit to the overhead bins. They are collected and returned at the aircraft door.

Short bus ride around an Aeroflot Airbus which surprised me.

We arrived at the end of the B gate. Long walk on this long linear terminal.

Hi AB, thanks for sharing this FR with us! A pretty basic affair, they don't even offer chocolates or bottles of water on boarding?
Pretty poor indeed, at least UA lets *G privileges prevail for luggage with Basic Economy fares. And the lack of vouchers for lounge closure is also pretty poor, was this only for *G’s or for revenue J passngers as well? Must be tough times for Miles&More.
I saw the same SU A320 last month passing through MUC, looks to be permanently grounded. The reg is VP-BET and is owned by a Russian lessor so likely won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
Hey AirBerlin, thanks for sharing! P.S. I updated the carrier to Lufthansa Cityline for you. Thanks!
