Hello everyone!
Today I found some of my very old pictures of 2016, a period when I was travelling loads but unfortunately a time when I took less pictures.
The idea of this trip was to follow my partner qt the time- as he was working from "home". Yes I know, before covid and back then it was the only person I knew that had such freedom.
Flying blue miles earned with this flight: 234
XP earned: 2
(In nowadays conversion of Mile-revenue based scheme)
Enchainement de vols
- 1Air Europa - LGW - MAD
- 2
- 3Avianca Brazil GRU - SSA
- 4
- 5
- 6
- 7
- 8UX3
You can see below that even though some of the flights of the routing are missing, the price is very decent for
A) the lenght
B) the fact that it is an open jaw.

As Avianca Brazil cesed its operations, there are no maps available online.
AT SAO PAULO - GUARULHOS - INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
I left you from my previous flight from Madrid with Air Europa. There was enough connecting time for me to go outside and breath a bit some fresh air.
Air Europa and Avianca are not part of the same alliance, howeve UX offered a code share, I still went to check in to double check that everything was in place for my next flight.
GRU wasn't really the best looking airport by far…

After going through security, I was back again at terminal 2.

With a mix of Gol airlines, Avianca with both the new and the old livery.

onboard the a320
Aircraft: Airbus A320-214
Registration: PR-AVU
Engines: 2x CFM56
Age: XX Years
Layout: Y162
Observations: Since the Avianca brazil collapse, all of the fleet has been sold to either Latam or Azul.

I don't particularly remember the crew however I was the most impressed by the cabin… IFE on amedium haul wow!

After take off the service started.

I must say it wasn't great cuisine but enough quantity for the flight.

The magazine review… Someone did have a bit of a heavy hand on make up!

Like I was saying on my previous report, there has been not much aesthetics research on an architecture point of view at GRU but at least it is easily understable.

Something quite unique: The celebrities pages…!

The extend of the network of Avianca Brazil

And finally my favorite geek page…. An all airbus fleet, with the rare A318 on it!

Approaching SSA is so cool, a bit like Nice where you fly over the crystal blue sea and the city…

at salvador international airport

When you arrive you have this mock up of the city, something very nice for people visiting Bahia (yes people just called the town Bahia not Salvador de Bahia)

Another cool thing is this alleay of bamboos leaving the airport.

I was really surprised positively by the town, I think it has to be my favorite in Brazil: lots of history, good food, nice beaches, nice people…

The very famous lighthouse

Thanks for reading my report!

Thanks for this vintage report describing a very good product by O6. All the opposite of UX.

Hey! thanks for your remarks!
Yes i was really pleasntely surprised!
Nice report, I was initially surprised you got Skyteam points for this flight- until I saw the itinerary was via Air Europa!
LATIN America has some interesting airline services, just a shame its either really expensive and heavily regulated.
Thanks for your comments mate!
what do youmean by heavily regulated?
Avianca's previous livery was so much nicer than the current one! I really don't like this trend of changing for cheap euro-white liveries these past few years!
Thanks for sharing!
Hey Mate
absolutely agree with you, it really feels like there were more research behind the old livery... the worse is defo brussels airlines
It's like they all use the same Marketing/Design firm now. I mean look at Icelandair's new livery...such a travesty. They went from one of the most beautiful to another booooring white plane...lame
agree absolutely boring
