BACK FROM FRANKFURT
Hello Everyone and welcome to this new series of flight, that happened just before the second lockdown of 2020.
This information has some importance has direct flights with LH were almost none existants and you will see the way back is a bit of a funny one!
So why going back home through Nice you wonder? Well it was during the 2020 summer, when there weren't that many flights around available and so the next flight from CDG to LYS was landing about 1 hour later than with this connection to Nice…
Also I perhaps, love Nice and above all flying…
And maybe I wanted XP and miles for a gold status?! Not sure which reason to pick now !!!

Flying blue Miles earned with this flight: 504
Status earned: 2 XP
Air France doubling the XP status in 2020: 2 additional XP
The Air France app is well desgined, and you can have your boarding pass at hand.

Airbus typically recomends 199 seats in one class at a pitch of 32 in, at max the aircraft can have 230 seats and Air France chose to configure it with 212 seats…

AT NICE-CÔTE D’AZUR AIRPORT
I arrived from CDG some hours before, enough time for me to actually leave the airport and go under the hot sun of Nice, after a week in Germany it really felt refreshing!!
The runways of Nice…

I had just about time to get an uber, go to nearby Saint Laurent Du Var beaches for a quick picture and the feet in the water!

After the shortest holidays of my life (!) it was time to go again through security and back inside the T2 terminal.

Here was my last plane of the day, at gate A17
Aircraft: Airbus A321-212
Registration: F-GTAZ
Engines: 2x CFM56
Age: 9 Years
Layout: Y232
Observation: the lastly received A321… usually used on domestic routes, however equipped with smart and beyound cabin…
There were something happening at boarding… Even though the priorities were called in order, the Sky priority people weren't allowed to board just yet… It is only when i stepped into the plane, realising the whole crew was talking to someone from Business class, and that a lot of passengers were either complimenting that someone or telling him off…
Who could it be?
Someone known as BHL in France, no it is not a furniture store but Bernard Henry-Levy, claim to be a philosoph, the one that initiated the war with Lybia and famous husband of french actress Arielle Dombale. I meet celebrities just like @chevelan, except the one I meet didn't lead a reveolution in their country against an oppresive sovietic regime!!

We were parked next to another A321, F-GMZA, the first A321 of the fleet, 24 years old and in fact that used to belong to Air Inter too… Can you imagine this unit has seen at least 5 different seat configuration…! IT was bound to Orly…
And we soon after went to align on the runway

and take off

rotate

gear up!
Look at this beautiful beach!!

The plane made a sharp right turn to comply with Nice restrictions and not fly over the city

And another turn to head back up north

Once the seat belt sign was on the crew jumped on the curtain to leave some privacy to our VIP, that I am sure was trying to think on our behalf to the meaning of life…
Personnally I was thinking what kinda of drink i should get and got water and tomato juice for once

I connected to the wifi to download a few newspapers…And of course the magazine…

This is really a very short flight and so the descent started very soon…. Kuddos to the crew for serving everyone in such a short time..

Landing on 35R as usual

AT LYON - SAINT EXUPÉRY AIRPORT
We parked at the Q gates of the Terminal 2, dedicated to AF and friends..

Goodbye big boy!

Walking alognside the corridor for luggage reclaim..
