Hello everyone and welcome to another one of my older flight reports. This time its going to be of a short domestic hop from Bangkok to Chiang Mai onboard a Thai Boeing 777-300er. Firstly for those interested a video version of this flight report is available on my YouTube channel, the link is attached below.
So basically because i had a very short connecting time in Bangkok from my previous flight couldnt do much other then rushing to my gate.So i apologise for not having any terminal shots. This flight report will start directly from onboard the aircraft flying me out to Chiang Mai that morning. The aircraft in question is a 2013 built Boeing 777-300er with the registration of HS-TKM. My seat no was 46K that was a few rows behind the emergency exit.

The seat consisted of a nice working IFE system( although it wasnt turned on for this flight),a USB port to charge small hand held devices and some really good legroom. The seat also had a footrest with on long haul flights can be very useful.

The cabin overall was very comfortable, Thai is one of the few airlines that have the rare 3-3-3 configiration in economy class which meant seats were spacious.

The seat pocket contents consisted of a Boeing 777-300ER safety card , the "Sawasdee" inflight magazine and the inflight duty free catalogue.

We pushed back from our gate on time , and those powerful GE90s power up.

From the gate it was a quick taxi to Runway 19L . In the background a Japan Airlines Boeing 787 taxiing to the Runway behind us .

After a surprisingly short takeoff roll we lifted of the runway bound for Chiang Mai.

For those interested the take off from Bangkok is linked down below.
A 360 degree turn as we set course to Chiang Mai in the North of Thailand.

Flying at our cruising altitude of 29000 feet. Clear blue skies are always a treat for the eyes.

The cabin crew shortly commenced the inflight service shortly we reached cruising altitude. For this short flight a green chicken curry tortilla roll and a bottle of water was served. In my opinion this was a perfect snack for this flight.

Some stunning views of the hills in the country side as we near towards Chiang Mai. Seriously day time flights are always amazing.

Looked out of the window and noticed the spoliers deployed which meant very soon it was time to descend into Chiang Mai. Wow flying on this Boeing 777 on a short flight really speeded up time.

Some more views as we descend towards Chiang Mai.

The entire approach into Chiang Mai airport can be viewed here.
On finals for Runway 36.

And we touchdown in Chiang Mai International Airport at our scheduled arrival time, good job by the pilots with the smooth touchdown.

Some nice views of the hills around Chiang Mai as we taxi towards our gate.

Some of the airlines that fly to Chiang Mai. Can you name all of them?

After a quick taxi we make it to our gate bringing to the end of this flight.

One final look at the beautiful HS-TKM to conclude this flight report.

Being able to fly such aircraft on short flight like this one is unique to Asia I believe. A fantastic way to fly.
The snack offered is very good for a domestic flight. TG is financially in trouble, hope they'll survive, and they might do some cost-cutting.
Thank you for this report
It’s really is amazing that unlike Europe people can fly on these big widebodies even on domestic flights in Asia ✈️? yup it’s really sad to see what’s happen at Thai , I hope they recover soon as they really are one of the best airlines in Asia ?
Hi! It's always with great pleasure avgeeks can catch a widebody aircraft on a short flight. This 777 is a real treat, especially with a window seat and a snack!!!
