First flight for a short week trip to Vietnam: two days in Hué and five days in Vietnam.

I went to the AF lounge but didn't take pictures. Uneventful.
Check-in, custom and boarding were fast as there was almost nobody (and I boarded in the last ones). The premium economy cabin was half full, I had nobody beside me. It's the new premium economy cabin of the A350. Very similar than AF premium economy except that the seat reclines !!! (or at least it feels like its does. AF should copy VN). So the seat is good, lot of spaces.



Security instructions and in-flight magazine:



Drinks offered before take-off (orange, apple juice or water) as well as trouser and flip-flops. Distribution of headphones after take-off.
No distribution of menu so no pictures !!!! Food was quite nice. Pasta salad was ok. Rice with beef was quite good, with quite a lot of meat. Globally a good meal as often with VN. The food tray didn't stay flat maybe because the tablet is split on two. But not very nice for eating.



Selection of movies is ok. Not a lot of choices and not a lot of very new movies. Quite a lot of vietnamese movies

Conclusion

A good flight as often with VN. Really like the new cabin.

But VN should:

- invest in the selection of Western movies, especially on this route
- invest in customer service. The flight attendant in charge of the cabin was not nice, not helpful, her English was bad. Moreover, the electric plug didn't work for the entire cabin. I asked her why and she said it was for safety reason (in case of fire). It's totally bullshit, it's a brand new plane (A350) and there is no reason the electric plug didn't work. But she wasn't helpful and didn't want to turn if on I think. It was very unfortunate as I had to finalize a presentation on my laptop. I sent VN a facebook message 10 days later (too late I suppose) to explain this situation and I'm still waiting for a final answer from them. Their first reaction was only to say thank you to let them know !!!
