Welcome to my latest flight report, detailing the Dublin to Frankfurt leg of a trip I made to Hamburg in Summer 2013.

Lufthansa flight LH983 to Frankfurt, with a scheduled departure time of 5.40 am, is the first departure of the day from Dublin Airport.
We arrived at the airport at 4.30am to check-in. As the airport was very quiet, the check-in and security process was super quick. Afterwards we headed towards the Lufthansa departure gate at Pier B in Terminal 1. Boarding commenced shortly thereafter.

The breakfast snack was surprisingly good quality. Museli with OJ and coffee.

Being extremely sleep-deprived, I nodded-off for the rest of the flight, regaining consciousness just as we began our descent into Frankfurt!

We pulled up to a parking position in the middle of the airfield and were bussed to the terminal. We then headed towards connections to catch our flight to Hamburg.

Conclusion

The decent food offering and the attentiveness of the Lufthansa flight attendants certainly made up for the very early departure time from Dublin. The Airbus A321 is now probably my favourite aircraft and is always a pleasure to fly on (as long as I'm seated ahead of the engines!!).
