Welcome to my first flight report! This report will be about my trip to Delhi during my school spring break, these flights will be divided into four parts.
Background:
Me and my father planned back in December that we would fly to Delhi during my spring break in April (2 April - 12 April). We wanted to book with Emirates, as none of us had flown with EK before. However, we didn't have Indian visas and there is no visa-on-arrival for Swedish citizens. We got our visas issued in the middle of February and the staff there told us that the Indian government will make sure that Swedish citizens will be able to collect their visa upon arrival at a later date, but I'm not sure if this is true. However, the price of the EK tickets went up after we received our visas and only Aeroflot and Finnair had competitive RT tickets to DEL, but we didn't want to fly with them. My dad told me to look for tickets every day. All the european carriers (except SU and AY) offered tickets at very uncompetitive prices. I really wanted to fly with LH, as they would operate the A346 on 2 April (Our departure date).
One day, I just looked on the LH website for fun, as I had nothing to do before going to school. To my surprise, I found two cheap RT tickets to DEL (2 April - 12 April). I ran to my dad's room and told him about it, I quickly turned on my laptop and we booked the flights. I quickly went off to school after that and now our DEL trip had been confirmed!

At home (2 April 2015):
I woke up at 04:20 and directly went to the bathroom to take a shower. Our taxi to Arlanda terminal 5 would pick us up at 05:30. We checked that we had everything with us before leaving the house and said goodbye to my mom and my sister.
Driving to ARN, 05:50 when this photo was taken.

Arriving at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, terminal 5.

We waited at the departures area for a while and then we headed for the SAS bag drop area, we just had one piece of luggage.

Did some spotting before going to the gate.

Walking to the gate, I believe it was gate 7A but I'm not 100% sure.

My ride to Munich, D-AIQA (LH 320, now operating for 4U).

Boarding was done on-time and efficiently as expected, wing view from 14A.
Unfortunately I couldn't take a cabin shot but the flight was 100% full, overheard the flight attendant saying that not a single seat was empty and I didn't find an empty seat when I looked around.

Sorry, forgot to take a picture without my camera bag, but the legroom was great! (I'm 177 cm tall).

Beginning our taxi to runway 01L.
Takeoff from runway 01L.
It's always sunny above the clouds :).

Not a lot happened on this flight as expected, the service began about 30-45 minutes after we took off. I'm not completely sure what to call it but it was a bread-thing with chocolate filling. It wasn't so bad. The bread-thing was accompanied with a drink, I always choose OJ whenever I fly. The Lufthansa flight attendants were very friendly and attentive, they always had a natural smile when looking at you.

Landing at Munich, the weather at MUC wasn't much better than the weather at ARN.
Taxiing to our gate.
We disembarked by stairs and were taken to the terminal by buses.

Nice FR, looking forward the next one :-)
Thank you :)
Thanks for sharing your first FR and welcome aboard
Fortunalety you found a cheap routing for your trip
See you soon for the next leg
Thank you :)
I guess I was a bit lucky, the LH prices went up by almost 600 euros after we bought those tickets!
Thank you for your nice comment!
Welcome and thank you for sharing the first of many reports to come.
It's great that you found a cheap fare on LH after checking consistently. Your efforts paid off in the end.
Good spotting with nice shots. Looking forward to the rest.
You are most welcome. It's always a pleasure to encourage new talent. ;)
Are you planning to include a bonus of your trip to DEL in your subsequent reports? That should be an amazing trip.
See you later.
Thank you very much!
I checked around 10-20 times a day until I found that fare, I guess it paid off :)
Thank you for your nice comment, It means a lot to me as it's my first FR.
I think I might post some pictures from Delhi in part 2.
Welcome to the site and thank you for this very comprehensive first report!
bread-thing with chocolate filling
- Pan au chocolat, it was written on the wrapper, I'm surprised the French commentators above didn't give you a lashing ;)
It's good to see Stockholm and Munich share the same grey weather (and love for UA aircraft).
Nice spotting at ARN. SK seems to be one of the rare B737 operators in Europe.
Looks like German efficiency won out on this short regional hop, with surprisingly friendly LH FAs.
Looking forward to the rest of your series!
Thank you :) and no problem!
Didn't actually notice that, apparently it translates to 'chocolate bread' on google translate.
Haha, I'm always unlucky when it comes to weather at Stockholm, I always get to deal with bad weather whenever I spot or fly from ARN!
Thank you! They sure are one of the rare 737-600 operators.
I was actually surprised, after reading many reviews, didn't expect the flight attendants to be that friendly!
Nice job on your first report. Good pics with lots of detail and a good opening--way to go! I totally understand not wanting to fly SU--but why not AY? Reports on Finnair seem to be generally positive. The legroom looks good on this aircraft--the slimline seats also help for more legroom...but tend to be hard in my experience. Your bready chocolate thing is a Chocolate Croissant (at least that's what they are called in the US), LOL. I guess it doesn't really look like a normal one as it's probably a bad industrial version of a chocolate croissant or pain au chocolat in French (as it says on the wrapper)
Ah ok, that makes sense that you wanted to fly LH in that case. The A346 is definitely a beautiful bird.
Thank you for the nice comment!
I didn't really have anything against AY to be fair. I wasn't so keen on flying with them because they would operate the A343 on that day (have flown with the A343 before, also flown with the A333 numerous times). I found out that LH would operate the A346 on 12 April so that made me choose LH. I have always wanted to fly on the A346, it's one of the most beautiful planes in my opinion.
I actually suspected that it was a badly made version of a chocolate croissant, didn't really pay much attention to the text on the wrapper then, I saw it after I posted this report.
