Review of Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Algiers in Economy

Continuous trip report from LH981.
The second bus arrived and we boarded the bus and took us straight to our A319.

As soon i boarded the plane, the chaos didnt end, passengers fighting for seats, even tho everyone has assigned seat ! its Lufthansa not air couscous (algerie). cabin crew doing there best in a professional manner to sort the seating out. some passengers had a huge cabin bag which i was shocked it was allowed in, didnt fit the overhead bin and lots of passengers had oversized bags which i was amused to see this complete mess on Lufthansa ! I swear to god, if it was in Air France they would never behave like that at all. it was purely messed up which delayed our departure as some cabin bag had to be gone underneath the cargo bay. Captain came on the PA and announced smooth flight over Germany, Swiss, France, over Marseilles then decent towards Algiers. And duration flight of 2Hrs50min. everything calmed down and we started our taxi towards the runway.

After cruising altitude, the crew started with drinks cart, then the smell of food deemed to the cabin and smelled delicious. it was purée with lamb and carrots.
have to say Lufthansa catering is wonderful, doesn't disappoint except its in a very small portions almost looks like a kids meal. Other than that, everything was spot on, except the majority of the passengers loool. The cabin was quite load with 90% passengers talking to each other, not saying its bad or anything …. if only they weren't that load, felt like i was in a sunday market hahaha.

But i guess quality over quantity is the motive for lufthansa, if so, hats up for them.
after the meal, i just relaxed and looked out the window and i never saw how sunset turned into darkness …. it just happened in a blink of an eye, it was truly amazing to watch ! best IFE ever hahaha, rather have a window seat then a tv tbh, the only useful thing about the tv is the flight map ! which this case lufthansa doenst offer on there narrow body jets.

over algiers, had a werid feeling as soon we were over Algeria, haven't been here for over six years ! until this summer

as soon as we were on short final, i nearly had a heat attack. green laser filled my window which i immediately thought it was a sniper trying to aim at the tail to shoot down the plane.
silly me thank god that wasnt the case, just some fouls like to mess with planes when they land at night, its a big problem in Algeria and Morocco apparently.

welcome to algiers airport, 10 mins ahead of schedule.

we parked at gate 12 i believe, alitalia just arrived ahead of us.
Another point, before the plane even reached the gate everyone stood up and were fighting to get there stuff out of the overhead bins, then the announced came along aggressively in French and English ladies and gentlemen, seat down, he haven't reached our gate nor the plane stopped, please be seated with ur seatbelts on, until the seatbelts sign had been switched off !!!! but off course no one listened. not sure why i found this flight to be hilarious, many people thought i lost my mind because i was LOL. i was the very last one to disembark the plane, another horrific scene, the plane was literately trashed , soo badly iam honestly not joking it felt like the plane flew into a very bad turbulence which the plane went up side down ! i shoudlve took a picture, but i was busy listing to a conversation which my self and a passenger got engaged with the cabin crew, her face was soo pale and tired, and was shocked about this mess, she literately had no words to say, poor her. what worst she had to fly back to Germany ….. they are not allowed to stay over in Algiers for security reasons. she didn't mentioned it, but i understood and later was told by someone who works in the airport.
after i bid farewell to the poor cabin crew and the pilots, off i go to another nightmare, the security which took me two hours long to get thru ….i nearly cried but considered my self lucky, because jetfly came from charloi , then turkish airlines from istanbul, air france from paris and air algerie coming from istanbul as well i think. you can imagine how the arrival hall looked with only two police officers cheking the passport and ticket. utterly disgusting.
My final disappointed and frustration was after two hours at the security, my luggage didn't arrive with few others as well, one came from dublin as well but never saw him until i arrvied there and two Algerians from Oslo. took another 30 min to sort it out ….. i was really worried as i have a driver waiting for me to take me back home to another journey to oran, 4 hrs on the road ! didnt arrived at my final destination until 5AM. its an experience i would never in my life to forget, and to never experience it again. next time its stright to oran, or an early flight to catch an domestic flight.
I hope this trip report was enjoyable, with every detail i could've thought off, even tho its been over six months ! it feels like yesterday. Thank you very much and good night.
