Ways too early we are at FAI Airport, here some shoots of this beautiful building:
Arrivals and check in are on the same floor. FAI is a really pretty airport, very spacy, and the extensive usage of wood gives it a very warm touch.
Alaska Airlines check in desks:
Boarding gates are upstairs:
Interesting things:
Personne au check in, personne à la TSA. C'est ultra rapide.
Airside:
Our plane arrives from Anchorage, right on time:
That's the cabin. I was first seated on 01A but I had a neighbor and the plane was almost empty. So I move backwards:
Safety card:
We boarded via a jetty, this you will never see in Europe for a small plane:
Our turbo prop and a view of the apron:
The crew was very friendly and smiling. They served us this morning snack mix and a drink:
That was adequate for the duration of the flight and the morning time, but nothing to write a book about^^
Two outside shoots and the lavatories, without sink. That was a first for me on a modern plane.
We landed early in Anchorage, which is always good.
Now time for the bonus, a flight to Coldfoot, north of the Arctic Circle, followed by a car return on the Dalton Highway. The pictures are quite self-explanatory. The flight was really good, took us about an hour to get there. The pilot tried its best to avoid the turbulences and there were quiet a lot with some heavy bumps!
The car drive back takes 6H00 as the road is almost always icy. When you cross a truck, you need to pull up, as you don't see anything because of the snow / ice blast.
Average temperature:
Fantastic scenery and pics. What a nice experience flying to Coldfoot. -34 is way too cold for a panda to survive. :P
