BSL - BCN LX1934 Y / AVRO RJ100 - 08/12/2014: HERE
We headed to the airport to drop the car we had rented. It was kind of confusing as we had to drop the car in the French part and we were coming from Switzerland, but we finally managed to find AVIS (French Side) and leave there the car. The building is quite modern.
The inside of the terminal is clean, modern and comfortable.
Basel Airport Terminal with Christmas decoration.
EuroAirport finger.
Extremely comfy seats with great views of the airplanes.
Time to do some spotting! EZY A319.
KLM E190 and a couple of EZYs A320 and A319.
There weren't many shops and it was time to start boarding, so we headed to the gate.
This is the best image I managed to take of our Avro RJ100.
We quickly boarded, I had seat 02F which was in the second row, really comfortable seat. View of the two engines.
View from my window seat 02F before push-back.
Windows of the Avro RJ100. Really weird!

Legroom was very good, and pitch was great (33') because I managed to choose seats that are theoretically for Business Class passengers!
Taxiing to the runway. A320 Air Berlin and ATR-72 Air France.
An abandoned aircraft before facing the runway.
Takeoff. Views of the Swiss landscape.
It was really cloudy and foggy in Basel.
We soon reached cruising altitude.
We were served a bagel and a drink shortly after takeoff.
Views from my window seat while flying towards Barcelona.
The flight went quite smoothly. We soon started our descend into Barcelona Airport.
Views of Illes Medesand Costa Brava (Northern Part of Catalonia).
We had some great views of Barcelona before landing.
Views of the W Hotel and the two Avro RJ100 engines.
Views of the industrial port before touching down.
Landed in Barcelona.
Air Europa B738.
Vueling A320 with Sharklets
Last views of the interior of the aircraft.
As the Swiss will retire the Avro RJ100, I asked the flight attendant if I could take some pictures of the cockpit of such a beautiful aircraft. Fortunately, he answered positively.
Pictures of the cockpit.
Thanks for sharing this return leg of your trip on the Avro RJs. Seems to be a really nice ride with a very good seat pitch. Too bad they are going away. Nice pics on approach to BCN!
Yes, it was a very comfortable ride with such a good pitch! It is a pity they are being retired....
Thanks for reading my FR!
