Hello everyone,
I just joined flight-report.com in 2014 hence this is my 1st FR. A little background about myself, I am a polytechnic student in Singapore studying an aviation course. I usually travel only during vacation time for holidays. This time, we had plans to visit Hong Kong. At first, the routing was SIN-HKG and then HKG-SIN. However, we had last minute changes and decided to visit Bangkok as well. Thus, we cancelled the HKG-SIN sector
The final routing is as follows:
1) 13 Sep 2014: CX736 SIN-HKG, B773, Economy
2) 16 Sep 2014: CX755 HKG-BKK, B777-300ER, Economy
3) 19 Sep 2014: TZ301 DMK-SIN, B772, Economy
I would be flying Cathay Pacific, the World's Best Airline 2014 and I was excited to experience the Economy Class experience as I had last flown with them in 2012.

There was no menu given out onboard, hence the crew told us that there are 2 selections available, which are
1) Chicken rice
2) Fish with pasta
We also had a small tub of Haagen Dazs strawberry ice-cream which was very nice. If I am not wrong, SQ also has Haagen Dazs ice-cream as dessert for Y pax.
I took the fish with pasta while my mum chose the chicken rice.

Conclusion

Cathay Pacific
Food: Meals were delicious with the strawberry Haagen Dazs ice-cream. I finished everything.
Crew: Crew were friendly and efficient, pleasant experience.
Entertainment: The selection of movies was good, although the music albums present were average compared to SQ's entertainment system. There could be a larger variety. I decided to use my MP3 player for songs instead. Overall the IFE was good, but the touchscreen was not very responsive. Using the control is faster.

For the price paid, I find the overall experience very pleasant and I would definitely fly with CX again.

Singapore Changi Airport
Plenty of shops, beautiful decors. Security procedures were efficient. Airport is very clean. Definitely a great place for transit travellers with plenty of activities available.

Hong Kong International Airport
Immigration took about 15 minutes as there was a queue but most counters were open. Baggage reclaim was fast and we were out within 30 mins.

  • Hi and thank you for sharing this report, funny as I was just browsing CX videos on youtube.

Your report is well done, did this particular plane have First and business class or was it a regional configuration?

Many thanks again and please do post the next legs

  • Hi,

Thank you. This plane had a regional configuration, hence only Business and Economy class. I'll try to upload the next 2 flights by next week.

  • Thanks for sharing your first FR and welcome aboard

CX has a good Y product

The meal looks good even if I'm not fond of these Hagen Dasz ice creams

I hope to see you soon for a next report

  • A very comprehensive report, with equally good narrative and pictures.

I can identify one of my FRs, second from left, on the corporate screenshot :)

Thanks for this report, and welcome among the contributors to the website !

  • Thank you for sharing this first report and welcome here.

Quite a good flight, as usual with CX.

See you for the next leg.

  • Welcome and thank you for sharing this nice first report.

CX is a consistent airline as expected.

  • Welcome and thank you for sharing.

The meal tray is smaller than SQ one and looks lighter.
