INTRODUCTION
Hello everyone,
On the 4th March my uncle turned 80
Therefore, he invited all of us to celebrate his birthday in Francavilla, where I've my house-by-sea
He planned the party for the following Saturday, at lunch
In the first days of the year he confirmed the day and I immediately searched for flights
It was the 12nd January
The closest airport to Francavilla is Pescara (PSR), where I've flown a few times
Ryanair offers flight both from Bergamo (BGY) and Milan-Malpensa (MXP)
Living 20 minutes driving from the first one I started to search flights from there
Unfortunately, no flight was scheduled for Friday afternoon nor Saturday morning, only in the afternoon
Moreover , the return was planned for early Sunday morning, like 7AM
No deal
Therefore I moved to search flights from MXP
The obvious choice was the 18:00 flight, however it would have pose a big issue for me
Being at MXP at that time would have meant leaving my job at 13 and drive through Friday traffic of Milan, meaning a high risk of rushEnter text here…
I decided to get the earliest flight of the Saturday
Leaving that early would have meant for me to leave late in the night
Being a night animal this wasn't an issue
For the return I chose the latest option
The whole solution costed me 45 euros
On the same day I booked the same flights for Easter (Friday evening to Sunday evening) and the price was 170 euros
3.8x for the SAME ROUTE is incredible…

BEFORE THE FLIGHT
On Sunday morning I checked-in through Ryanair's app
Even this time I wasn't assigned a window seat
THE FLIGHT
With the flight scheduled at 21:35 I decided to be at the airport around 20:30
Since my parents had to drive back to Rome and didn't want to do it too late I ask my aunt to bring my at the airport
We left the house around 20:15 and fifteen minutes she dropped me off at Pescara-Abruzzo Airport
The check-in hall was empty, only two Ryanair flights were departing (Milan-MXP and Wroclaw-WRO)
Accessing security
The control was pretty quick
As I was collecting my stuff I heard a conversation between two security guards
"Did you see the lady with the baby stroller? She took a picture"
"Ok, so?"
"It's forbidden here!!"
"Ok, so? Are we supposed to shot her?"
Even if I'm Italian this things still amaze and surprise me
The gate to Milan-MXP was already open as I made it to the boarding area
Load factor looked a bit higher than the day before, but not 100%
The bird was sitting in front of the terminal

First flight on 4th May 2017 (8.8 years old at the moment of the flight)
Delivered to Ryanair the same month and transferred to Malta Air since October 2019
Equipped with 189 seats in full-Y mixed configuration

Unluckily the airport name had a broken letter
The mood lighting was pink for International Women's Day
As expected, the plane wasn't full
My row was empty, meaning I conquered the window seat 29F
The plane looked much fresher than the one on MXP-PSR
De Cecco, the 3rd world largest pasta manufacturer, has its headquarter in Fara San Martino, 40 km from Pescara
Is one of the most important company in the region Abruzzo
Twenty minutes before scheduled departure the doors were closed
We left the stand moments after
Mood lighting turning blue for departure
Taxiing was pretty quick
We began the take off run perfectly on schedule
The coastline with Adriatico Stadium, home of Pescara Football Club
The Serie B match against Bari was undergoing that moment

For the first half of the flight I was facing the sea, in total darkness

At 22:28, twenty-seven minutes in advance on schedule, we (un)softly touched down at Milan-Malpensa "Silvio Berlusconi" Airport

Docking 5 minutes after touching the ground
Disembarking by walk, the terminal was straight in front
I made my way straight to the exit
While walking I was able to spot stickers and banners about 2026 Winter Olympics
Generally speaking, I think MXP proved to give a good welcome to athletes, journalists and visitors at the Games
The arrival facade had been upgraded too for the Olympics
Well done Milan!
Minutes after 23 I was picked up by the shuttle bus from the parking
I retrieve my car around 23:15-23:20
Arrived at home at 00:30, the ride was smooth as always
