And here we pick up from where I left you last week: at Frankfurt Airport…

…we arrived in on the overnight red-eye from Hong Kong aboard Lufthansa's Airbus A350-900.

You get a bright rainbow welcome and connecting through Frankfurt is a very straightforward and, as you would expect with the Germans, a highly efficient process.

You also get some great views of Lufthansa's ageing 747 fleet!

We jumped on the shuttle bus to take us over to the gates.

And because of our American Express Platinum Cardholder status, we can access Lufthansa's business class lounge even though we are flying on an economy ticket. If we flying on a business class ticket, we could access the Senator lounge.

It's very big, bright and has floor to ceiling windows running the length of the lounge.

First things first after that 13 hour plus flight, a shower! Lufthansa have many shower suites here that you can request to use during your time in the lounge.

They're kitted out with L'Occitane toiletries, hair dryers, soft cotton towels and a wash basin.

And they're really powerful, too!

I opted for a pint of orange juice! Yes I was thirsty.

A white double-shot Americano, with coffee from Lavazza.

And some orange natural yoghurt, granola, honey and sliced banana. This was delightful!

The husband went for an assorted medley, I thoroughly approve!

For those requiring privacy, there's these walk in pods.

As well as work stations, too!

But after that brief stay, it was time to head down to the gate to board our final flight of this series back to London Heathrow.

The screen was showing an on-time departure but there wasn't much movement. An announcement was then made for all passengers to form an orderly queue as a documentation check process needed to be carried out.

We received this stamped sheet of paper once our passports had been verified.

Here's our aircraft, this Airbus A320neo, which was delivered to Lufthansa in August 2018.

It's in a 3/3 seating configuration with grey leather upholstered seats.

And here's our seats for the journey, 12E and 12D, the aisle and the middle. No window seat for me today!

We didn't pay for these though and with them being extra legroom, they do afford a premium price. So we'll take the small win!

The legroom gods were kind to us!

After a very long taxi, with two circuits of the same area, we finally undertook de-icing procedures.

And then, we were away…

A complimentary 300ml bottle of still Aqua d'Or water was handed out.

Any further items can be purchased from Lufthansa's in-flight service. Just please promise me you won't spend your hard earned miles on items from here!

I was tempted by the Laugenbrezel (the German pretzel) but abstained in the end!

The toilets were clean, and both are located at the back of the aircraft. The only issue with the way the A320neo is configured is that the toilets are both exceptionally cramped.

We were then given a bar of chocolate.

Which is from the Lindt brand.

The husband then decided to do an off-piste Q&A segment, you can find it towards the end of the video if you're interested!

And that was pretty much it, we approached LHR and touched down around 30 minutes behind schedule.

This was much better than our long-haul experience but in some ways, incomparable. Lufthansa didn't try to wow me, and the product is simply that, an efficient way to get you from A to B! Thanks for reading and watching, as always.
