In this flight report, I’m gonna share my thoughts on Flydubai's B737 MAX 8 during our trip from Dubai (DXB) to Tivat (TIV) back in July 2025. Some people aren't sure whether this is the ideal choice but to be honest, flydubai is a fantastic choice & I can get flights in the summer route.
I had planned getaways with my family for my wife's birthday. There were three of us as well & one of us was a baby. It was a nice trip with great service and reasonable prices & we had 30 kilos of luggage and 7 kilos of carry-on luggage on this journey. You can select your seat 4hrs before your flight takes off. We were lucky to find two seats next to one other, 5F & 5E with an empty seat next to us & an aisle seat so the whole row was ours.
Departure at DXB Terminal 2.
We headed to the airport around 11 AM as our flight was in the afternoon and there were a lot of people at the airport & we felt a little crowded. But we were glad we didn't have to wait at the check -in desk for a lot as there was lot of desk dedicated to the flight & it only took us around 15mins to get through security as the staff was courteous, quick &helpful. The check -in process was really went quick.
Boarding & Takeoff.
Boarding for the flight starts around 12:40 which is about 40 minutes before we’re set to take off. Boarding went smoothly and families got to go first. The cabin was nice and modern, set up in a 3-3 layout for economy class. This seat is just your typical economy class configuration. There's an safety information card, flydubai magazine and onboard menu card in the pocket at the bottom & a single fold trade table that you can pull down and slide in and out & it even comes with a USB port which is pretty cool. The seat comes with a headrest that you can move up and down, but that's about it—no changing its shape or adjusting it in other directions. It curves up on both sides, which is great for giving passengers a comfy spot to rest their heads sideways. The seats are comfortable and totally works for a flight that's about 5.30 hours long.
Entertainment & meal service.
As soon as we took off, the flight attendants came by and gave us water bottles. IFE had quite a few movies to choose from, including some of the latest hits. It was paid then. I think the airline started providing free IFE and headphones from November 2025. The flydubai entertainment system has cool stuff like music, movies and games plus a live flight map. We started watching Oppenheimer, but I couldn't get through it all since our toddler kept distracting us. 😊 Onboard meals were quite reasonable and had a good variety.
We changed the baby's diaper in a lavatory at the back of the cabin.The design is simple and everything is clean. I went out to the galley for about 30 minutes to stretch because our son was a little cranky and the flight attendants were super friendly & we had a nice chat with my son. They'd stroll down the aisle with a tray for whatever the passengers needed. They're really kind.
Time of Arrival and Departure
Arrived about 05:00 p.m. Tivat time. It was crowded when we got there, but immigration was straightforward and baggage handling was super-fast. We got lucky too—first bag we spotted on the belt was ours!
