I live in Tel Aviv, but before I go to India to see my family, I decided to spend a few days in Dubai because of its convenient location, excellent flight connectivity and familiarity with the surrounding area, Dubai is an ideal vacation stopover. I choose Flydubai for this trip since it has a direct flight, reasonable times and it arrives at DXB Terminal 3.
Airport Experience - Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.
My experience from Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport is busy especially when people are leaving for other countries, but it is wellorganized. It was easy to identify and properly designated Flydubai's check-in counters. The people at the counters were pleasant and helpful and the checkin went quick even though the aircraft was full.
Security at Tel Aviv airport is strict which is to be expected, yet everything was done in a calm way. The departure area felt big and comfortable once we got through security and passport control. The duty-free area in Tel Aviv has a good size. There are a lot of different perfumes, cosmetics, drinks, chocolates and souvenirs to choose from. It has reasonable prices and is an ideal place to get some items before you fly.
Boarding and planes
The boarding process started on time but the flight was almost full because there were both tourists &people connecting from Dubai, though the fullflight , boarding went well.
A Boeing 737 MAX was the plane. The cabin looked clean, modern and well maintained. Standard 3-3 seating layout arrangements for economy class. I saw that the business class cabin looked bigger as I walked to my seat. The seats were broader and arranged in a 2-2 pattern.
Service aboard the plane (in Economy Class)
For a short trip, the economy class seat was better than I thought it would be. The seat was pushed back just right, so that the person behind you could relax without bothering you. You didn't have to lean over to watch films since the screen on the back of the seat was at a comfortable height for your eyes which was good for a 3hour trip and I wasn't exhausted by the time the flight was ended.
It felt strong and the tray table was big enough to hold a full meal tray and a phone. It didn't press into the knees when it was folded up. The seat pocket was big enough for a phone, an ID, and a few other small things..'There was average legroom, which was fine. Enough room for passangers to move around a little during the trip and I could sit with my feet flat on the floor and The seat was the right height to support the legs and felt comfortable
The headrest was simple but it was well-shaped and gave good support while you rested. Using the headphones and screen on the back of the seat made it feel natural and comfortable to sit.
The Experience of the Flight
The flight went smoothly and quietly once it took off. Even though the flight was full of passengers, the flight attendants stayed calm and handled well with a quick service and the flight went by quickly. Economy class now features seat-back screens which is a major improvement over earlier Flydubai flights. There was a good mix of films, TV shows, music and a live flight map on the entertainment system.Everyone on board got headphones. This made things a lot more comfortable, especially for people who didn't want to use their own gadgets. I think this is a fairly new addition to Flydubai's economy service. You can buy food and drinks on board. There are hot meals, snacks and both hot and cold drinks on the menu. Feeling reasonable for a short overseas journey, the meal tasted fresh, quantities were decent and costs were rather cheap, too.
Arrival Experience- Dubai International Airport T3.
We arrived at Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport(DXB). The terminal is big, modern, quite busy and yet it is also well organised. There were a lot of people going through immigration so it took a while but the process was organised and the luggage was delivered in a timely manner. DXB T3 has a large and attractive dutyfree area. You can find a lot of different perfumes, high-end brands, electronics, chocolates, dates & souvenirs. Walking around and looking around is fun even if you don't plan on buying anything.
