I just finished my fantastic trip in the Nordic as a wonderful opening of my Christmas holiday. As a part of the holiday experience, I booked a business trip for my friend and me. This flight is the first part of the day, which is followed by another interesting flight:
Flight routing
- 1Tromso TOS - Copenhagen CPH
- 2Copenhagen CPH - Prague PRG
I was super curious about my flight, because it was my first time getting on board a European business class. On the arrival day, I noticed that there was an extremely long queue waiting for security check, which is crazy because the security check is located on the second floor, but the line even occupied the whole stairs to the next floor. Though I believed that SAS provided the fast track for business class passengers in Tromso, I was afraid I could not even step on the second floor. Hence, I arrived at the airport more than 2 hours before the scheduled time.
Weirdly, there were many fewer passengers in the airport than I imagined. And there were only two counters for SAS. SAS offers more than 6 daily flights from Tromso to its hubs like Oslo, Copenhagen, and Stockholm. So the counters were busy, and you would be suggested to check in with the machines and baggage drop by yourself (even if you are a business passenger). The whole procedure is pretty easy and smooth, so it only took me about 15 minutes to go through the safety check.
Still, I highly recommend heading to the airport as early as you can. Tromso airport is always crowded especially during the holidays.

I was surprised by a pretty lovely BVB Dortmund livery Eurowings, but later I realized the reason why I could view this aircraft was that it was delayed. The seat was limited in the international zone (yeah, Norway is not a member of the EU). I had to wait for the passengers of this flight to finish their boarding. There wasn't a lounge for any passengers due to the small size of the airport. But I think there should be one. There are enough airlines and passengers to support.

The weather was freezing, so luckily everyone could get on board through the bridge, and there was a priority for business class passengers and frequent flyers. The seat was normal, just an empty middle seat with slightly extra space in the row comparing with economy seat, which is usual in Europe inner-continent flight.

After all passengers have boarded the aircraft, the plane taxied to the end of the runway to defrost. Not waiting for a long time, we took off with rain.

After flying up high, I finally saw the sun, which I had missed for about three days due to the polar night. And here started the true experience. I was then suggested to have a glass of champagne and a pack of cashews to enjoy the beautiful scenery. I don't know if it is fair, but providing alcoholic drinks is a bronnie point, absolutely. Besides, the staff was so handsome and so sweet, and they nicely asked whether everyone wanted to have lunch. For no doubt I went for it.

Before you scroll down for the actual meal, why don't we have a look at this tiny menu card? I'd love to say this is a very detailed arrangement. You could not have it but had. The card is served with the meal, and on the back of it is a reflection QR code with warmly wishes.

The portion is great. Two bread options are provided. And the crew asked if I wanted to refill my champagne or a new drink. The texture of the mashed potato was impressive. And you can add salt or pepper as you like which are wrapped in the cutlery. And the flavored dressing oil, together with the chives salad, perfectly matched the meal. After the hot meal, a Dubai chocolate was handed out.
After I finished the whole meal, my two-and-a-half-hour flight was half over. The crew came and took over my plates. And again she asked me: "What else snacks or drinks would you like?" I surprisingly reply: "What kind of snacks do you have?" And answered by chips, cookies, and chocolates. So I had a whole pack of chips and another glass of Coke for my following time.

I went to the lavatory, which was clean. I found the crew were really professional, heartily smiling every single moment. The whole flight experience is definitely comfortable with the smooth operations of cruising and landing by the pilots.

We then shortly landed at Copenhagen Kastrup Airport. Thank you so much for the attention. What I need to let you know is the price of this flight, which is only 30% more expensive than a ticket with checked baggage in economy class. The price of a hot meal is not as cheap as you think in the Nordic. I think it is really worthwhile, and you have to take my second flight into consideration. I will let you know soon.
Hi there, thanks for sharing your first review here with us! Nice to see a review on SAS regional business class as they’ve recently re-introduced it. It looks like they’ve done a good job with the service and catering. Certainly much better than the premium economy offering they had before without blocked middle seats.
Thanks again for sharing and welcome!
Thanks Kevin! I just knew that this is the re-introduced class. 🤔 I think they are on a good way.
