This trip starts with a very frosty and foggy early morning start!

With our flight departing from London Heathrow's Terminal 2 - the home of Star Alliance airlines.

The check-in desks are located directly in front of the door as you enter the terminal. You can bag check here for the following airlines and all counters are shared for ease.

Seems I was too eager though, as security didn't open until 04:00AM on the dot!

Heathrow had a seasonal spirit about it, including this aptly-coloured Christmas tree.

Walking to the gate you go past a number of historical moments, including Concorde. What a blast from the past! Do you think we'll ever see supersonic flight again?

Today, we boarded from Gate B43. These gates are quite a trek from the main terminal area so do ensure you leave yourself plenty of time. The walk took around 15-20 minutes all-in-all but admittedly, I wasn't racing.

And just as I thought the fog may have lifted, it seemed to have got even worse!

The aircraft today, this Airbus A320neo (HB-JDK) is nicknamed "Romanshorn".

My seat for the flight is 15A, directly next to the window on a row of 3. The seating configuration is 3/3.

The overhead lockers are huge, capable of storing IATA-compliant wheelie cases on the side. Great to see airlines investing in more space for luggage.

The seat features USB-A and USB-C ports in the footwell so you can charge your devices.

There's also a rather small drop down tray table.

Legroom is a little tight but not uncomfortably so.

Each seat also gets a white SWISS-branded leather headrest.

The view out my window was obscured by wind, rain and the fog! The usual standard for British winter departures.

Anyhow, we made it up, pretty much on time!

And were treated to this beautiful sunrise. One of the best I've witnessed in a while for sure…

The complimentary service consists of a bottle of SWISS-Valser still water…

…and a snack-size bar of pure SWISS milk chocolate.

The rear galley is rather cramped with a side station for the cabin crew to conduct service and two lavatories located to the left of this area.

The toilets were clean and well-maintained. This is always great to see!

And hot water was plentiful. Also a rarity!

The views were great. As I took them in, one of the cabin crew members approached me…

She gave me this little present of SWISS chocolates to take home to my husband and family. What a lovely touch! I was really taken aback.

And as the mountains came into view, that signalled our descent into Zürich.

And we again were treated to nice views. Lovely to see that London wasn't the only area suffering from the "morning fog".

All in all, a lovely little short haul flight with SWISS. Highly recommend the LHR-ZUR service, great crew and a good, comfortable, well-rounded product. Thanks for reading and watching, as always!
