INTRODUCTION
As I returned home after summer vacation I took some time to plan some visits to my family for the rest of 2025
On the 23rd August I booked the following weeknds:
13rd-14th September in Pescara, flying from Malpensa with Ryanair
7th-9th November in Rome, flying from Malpensa with Aeroitalia
5th-8th December in Rome, flying from Linate with ITA Airways
I payed 120 euros each for the first and the third one, while for the Aeroitalia flights I used 105 euros of the remaining 140 in the coupon I got last May

ROUTING
ITA Airways - Milan LIN > Rome FCO - Airbus A220-300
ITA Airways - Rome FCO > Milan LIN - Airbus A220-100

Some stats:
24th flight of 2025 (as of Dicember)
Overall great-circle distance flown in 2025 (as of the reported flight): 33.286 km | 17.973 nm
11th time on LIN-FCO route
BEFORE THE FLIGHT
48 hours before the flight I was able to check-in through ITA's app
Luckily I was assigned a window seat

In the hours before the flight I was informed via e-mail that the plane was full and the cabin baggage was requested to be checked for free
As usual I booked the P4 Long Term parking for 33 euros
THE FLIGHT
With the flight scheduled for 20:00 I left my house in San Pellegrino around 17:15, half a hour after leaving my workplace
At that time the Milan Eastern Ring Road was pretty busy

I parked the car around 18:30 and found the shuttle bus
Five minutes later I was dropped of at Milano-Linate "Enrico Forlanini" Airport

ITA Airways' counters were empty
I got there to leave my baggage, knowing the reclaim in Rome is pretty quick usually

Being free in my hands I went straight to the inspection point

Six minutes later I was airside, the control at Linate is always very efficient

Some spotting
Lufthansa A320

Iberia A320 with a British Airways Embraer parked in the background

ITA Airways and easyJet A320s

My gate is equipped with the jetway
Unfortunately the hold room didn't offer any sight of the plane

The plane landed from Rome 15 minutes later and the disembark went pretty slow
Ten minutes before scheduled departure time the gate opened for boarding

Door shot for the bird:
ITA Airways Airbus A220-300, EI-HHT
First flight on 1st December 2024 (1.0 years old) and delivered to ITA on the same month
Equipped with 150 seats in mixed C-Y configuration, it's dedicated to Angelo Di Livio, a footballer from late '80s and '90s

Making my way to the half of the plane

10-15 minutes after getting onboard doors were closed

The plane was covered of humidity, only the "Emporio Armani" hangar billboard was visible

Mood lighting turning blue and green for take off

Reaching the runway half a hour later than scheduled departure

31 minutes on delay the engines went full thrust and the plane got airborne

Banking I spotted Linate Airport behind us

And Milano in the distance

For the cruise the mood lighting was switched to full blue
A beverage service was delivered midflight

I spent most of the flight resting
The only interesting sight was La Spezia harbour

Half a hour into the flight the cabin was set for landing

Approaching FCO from north

At 21:16, six minutes later than planned, we touched down at Rome-Fiumicino "Leonardo da Vinci" International Airport
Taxiing to pier A31-52

ITA Airways line up

Blocking at the gate eight minutes after putting wheels on the ground

Disembark was pretty quick
The pier was pretty busy

Being at the beginning of the pier I reached the baggage hall in no time

As I approached the belt my suitcase emerged from the back-of-house
Outside the terminal I met my uncle who picked me
We arrived at home around 22
Stay tuned for the return flight
