Hi,
Having around an hour of transfer at Bogota, I visited the Avianca Lounge which is located on the upper level of the terminal next to some restaurants.

The Lounge is big and fine for a short to medium stop. It was however already very crowded.

There is quite an extensive buffet with plenty of choices including several warm options.

Boarding to the Avianca Dreamliner started on time and I took my seat in the center block.

The cabin definitely showed some signs of age and wear but in general the seat is comfortable.

There are plenty of stowage areas and a bottle of water was already waiting at the seat.

A big package with a mattress, a pillow and nice blanket were also available.

A rather cheap headset was also placed in the small locker.

Soon a welcome drink of champagne was offered.

Next menus were distributed.

The drinks selection:

Amenity kits were also distributed and they look very nice with a good content.

Meal choices were already collected while on the ground by the crew. Most cabin crew members were ok and most times friendly but one flight attendant actually stood out and was really friendly and polite.

We took off on time and climbed out of Bogota for this 9 hour 30 minutes flight across the Atlantic Ocean. Very soon the window shades were automatically heavily dimmed which I found not fitting for a lunch time departure (even if it is a flight going into the night).

Quite soon an aperitif was offered and I had some white wine.

Only a few minutes later the lunch/dinner service started and all starters, salad and main course were served at the same time on one tray. The dishes tasted ok but I think a proper long haul service should serve starters and main dish separately and not rush that much. The main course fish was actually very dry while the rice was tasty.

After some drink refills soon the trays were cleared and service finished with a selection of cheeses or sweets.

I watched some movies from the mediocre inflight entertainment selection. It was very strange and bad that absolutely no music programs were available - I had never seen that on any other airline before.
Mid into the flight quite a few passengers ordered the on demand snack burger - so did I. It actually was quite tasty and a nice addon.

Ca. 1 hour 30 minutes out of Madrid breakfast service started and a tasty breakfast was served.

We landed on time and docked at the nice Terminal 4.
