EI3612 / BHD-MAN

Good morning from Belfast City Airport. This morning I’m flying across to Manchester after a nice couple of days’ trip in Ireland and NI this summer.
I arrived at the airport at around 9 am after a bus from my hostel. At passport control I scanned my passport and was through to security. There was a very small queue and I was through within a matter of minutes.

The very empty security line at Belfast City George Best Airport.

I wandered into the departure lounge where there were a couple of cafés like Costa, and I sat in a nice armchair waiting for my flight.

After a little wait, the aircraft arrived from East Midlands and we began boarding at Gate 1, the furthest left gate in the terminal. There are no jetbridges here, so we walked out onto the apron.

Our aircraft today was an ATR 72-600, registration G-CMMK. Built in 2015 and is about 8 years old at the time of flying.
I took my seat, 16F.

My aircraft for today.

We taxied out to runway 22 and took off, banking left toward Manchester. The flight time was just 54 minutes.

The cabin of this ATR 72, nice and sleek with a modern european style.

We cruised over the Isle of Man and crossed toward Manchester. We descended over Manchester and lined up for landing, touching down on runway 23L at 10:54 and taxiing over to Stand 3B.

Just before landing, I asked a member of cabin crew if I would be able to visit the flight deck after landing, something a little more tricky on an aircraft such as the ATR due to the cargo bay separating the flight deck to the main cabin.
Thankfully, the cabin crew let me visit the flight deck.

I was the last on the bus as usual, after spending a bit of time in the flight deck!

    • Ah yes I did forget those, this flight was a while ago and I did not take as many photos as I do now. However I have added captions.

      Thanks for the feedback! 😀
