On the day of flight we arrived at the airport at 22:30pm, about 2 and half hours prior to the scheduled departure.

Since we had checked in online, we printed the baggage tags and boarding passes with one of these machines and tied them to our luggage.

Then we headed to one of these self service counters, where we scanned the baggage tag and dropped them by ourselves.

Then we immediately proceeded our way to the air-side. Our flight was assigned at gate 5 which is not so far away.

We waited for the boarding right next to the gate.

This was the plane that took us to Munich tonight. B-LRT delivered to Cathay Pacific Airways in September 2017. It just returned from Denpasar.

Coming back to the gate, there were already lots of people.

Next to our gate parked the Japan AIrlines 787-8, which would fly back to Tokyo Narita tomorrow morning at 10:20am as JA736.

Boarding started at 0:36am, I was at Group 6 of the boarding sequence.

My seat 45K. Paper menu, bottle of water, pillow and blanket were placed on the seat.

Seats in economy class is 3-3-3 configured. Row pitch is 32 inches, most European airlines are providing standard 31 inches in their A350 fleet.

The menu had a very colourful front cover.

Cabin during boarding. The flight was almost full and since I purchased the Essential fare class, I could select seat in advance.

Back of the economy seat.

I went through the catering menu, and since the flight was departing from Hong Kong, they served some local dish from Hong Kong. Some of the choices were in collaboration with the One Michelin Star restaurant Yat Tung Heen.

The snacks, in addition to the cup noodles, they also served the traditional egg tart from Hong Kong.

Pushback eventually started at 1:11am which was pretty on-time. Unfortunately the Top view of the camera was not working.

Taxing to the runway, and passing by terminal 2. Cabin was dimmed for takeoff.

At 1:32am, we lifted off from runway 07R.

Shortly after take off we turned to the South for the standard departure procedure.

About 10 minutes after takeoff, the cabin light was turned on and seatbelt sign was turned off.
I then started to watch the first movie of the flight, Now You See Me.

50 minutes into the flight, the snack service was skipped and dinner was served directly. I opted for the Sweet and sour pork with pineapple which was very tasty. This is one of the local dish in Hong Kong. The the drink I had an orange juice.

Got the Summer Berries & Cream flavour this time.

After I finished the movie at 3:40am, we were flying over Sichuan Provence, just passing through Chengdu.

Then I had a nap for 3 hours and woke up at 6:42am, we were about to reaching the north west border of China and soon into Kazakstan.

At 7:09am, I started watching the second movie of the flight, No Time to Die.

40 minutes later I visited the lavatory.

I also went to the back galley to grab some snacks for the movie.

I the middle of the movie I fell asleep again and slept for approximately an hour and 10 minutes. When I woke up we reached the west coast of Azerbaijan. Then I continue with the movie.

At 11:15am, I finished the second movie and at that time we were reaching the north coast of Türkiye.

Immediately I watched the third one, Now You See Me 2. I tried to charge my phone with the USB port below the screen but it was not responding at all. So I had to use the universal adaptor underneath the seat which was working.

About 10 minutes later, the cabin light was backed on gradually.

Another 35 minutes later, breakfast was served. I chose the Pork and dried vegetable congee with Chinese dim sum. I was so satisfied with the food. I also requested a Hong Kong style milk tea as the breakfast drink.

When the cabin crew came back and collected the tray, I requested a coffee with milk, but it disappointed me again.

Soon, the cabin was illuminated with some sort of mood lighting.

At 13:24am, the announcement from the cockpit informing us we were 30 minutes to landing.

Sun began to rise from the horizon.

Flaps were lowered to the landing position.

Second before touchdown. I switched to the camera front view and the runway down there was fascinating.

At 6:49am local time, we landed on runway 26L. Total flight time was 12 hours and 17 minutes.

We parked next to a Vietnam Airlines B787-9.

Total flight route. We flew through China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary Austria and finally Germany.

Thanks for reading!
Noting down the movies you saw through the flight is a pretty good touch, especially since I never seen anyone else do that before,
