Flight routing
- 1Birmingham - Edinburgh
- 2Edinburgh - Bournemouth
Good evening from Birmingham airport, tonight, I'm taking my first solo commercial flight, with a short hop up from Birmingham to Edinburgh.
The airport is practically a ghost town at this time, with my flight making up most of the crowd.

A view of the terminal, nearly empty now.
Below, a beautiful Air India 787, bound for New Delhi, sister to the aircraft that sadly crashed in June of this year.

Annoyingly, my flight was delayed coming in from edinburgh, causing an 18 minute delay in departure time.

Boarding was smooth, with my only ID check in the airport being a quick glance at the gate, as I havent done a domestic flight in the uk for a while, that was surprising.

Boarding went normally, for me, in 23F, I went through the rear door, finding my seat quickly and settling down. We pushed back from our gate and taxiied to the runway, departing from rwy15, making a left bank, flying past Nottingham and over Manchester. We climbed to a cruising altitude of 28,000 ft for around 35 minutes. The usual cart came around, offering paid snacks and drinks. Cruising went as usual, with people settling and passing the time. Before not too long however, we were descending into Edinburgh,

Unfortunately the only photo i got from descent was very blurry and shakey, however this is from our final approach into EDI.

After the flight, I had a brief chat with the pilots up front, however by the time I was out of the cockpit, the ground stweards who were monitoring passengers walking to the terminal had left, meaning i had to wait for one who was collecting a forgotten bag on the aircraft. For my avgeek self, it was great, being able to stand there practically on my own to just watch the airport ops.

After being escorted to the terminal over the 20 steps, I walked through the deserted airport, and left to get my bus!
