This is our yearly visiting home during the winter. On Wednesday, HIA was sparsely crowded. Finished immigration quickly. Then proceeded to pray the Isha prayer.

Visited the lounge after prayer. Had a lot of food options: sandwiches, salads, chicken, chicken biryani, pasta, sweets, tea/coffee.

I tried little bit of pasta, chicken biryani, and sandwich.

Notice the QA logo embedded at the bottom of the glass.

HIA is beautiful airport - nice, clean, and efficient.

First our gate was B8. Then changed to A7. Then again changed to B6.

Our plane

Biman planes are so dirty outside. Why don't they do water jetting cleaning? Is the cost of water jetting higher than the cost of fuel to make up for the drag induced by dirt accumulated on the plane's body?

Economy seats of B787. Seats were better compared to Biman's 777 seats. Cleaner. My seat was 30B.

Ambient lighting was OK. AC was not as cold as I had desired for.

In-flight entertainment worked - had a large selection of movies and videos. The highlight was Shakib Khan+Porimoni (those who know will know).

Very low quality headphone - basically nothing is clear the engine noise drowns everything.

A documentary on July uprising.

I surprised to see that few live news channels were available like CNN, BBC etc. BTW, MTG will be good candiate for POTUS in 2028 for the republicans, I think. She will pick up the MAGA mantle, albeit a slightly modified one.

Quran was available as audio - but the only reciter available was Abdul Baset.

Ooredoo offered aero mobile services. But look at the prices - pure robbery.

Next up Biman served their usual meal: Chicken tehari, papaya and potato bhaji. Both Tehari and Sabji were bland - lacked spices. The meal was preceded by welcoming mango juice and followed by tea.

IFE Flight Map

The sun was rising as we approached Chittagong.

My destination was Dhaka. So after an hour long layover at CGP, a 20 minute short flight followed to Dhaka. I have noticed that Biman pilots taxi their planes as if they are driving their own cars - higher taxi speed - as if they are hurtling the plane. Very unprofessional. For the CGP DAC flight, they served peanut bar as snack.

Before landing at Dhaka, I often see a layer of haze in the sky, and if you notice from the window, the dividing line is very stark. Can anyone explain this phenomenon?

Biman landed before its scheduled arrival time at Dhaka. The six hours of flight followed four hours of car ride. Then reached my village.
