Hi, dear flight-report members and readers!
In this FR I'd like to present a review of CityJet Mitsubishi CRJ-900 (operated for SAS) on a flight from Copenhagen (CPH) to Milan Malpensa (MXP) on 18 July 2024.
Intro
This flight was the 2nd leg of the SAS ticket from Faroe Islands to Italy FAE-CPH-MXP, with the 1st leg being operated by a dull A20N, and 3 hours layover in CPH. These flights took me from the pleasant (and mostly dry) coolness of beautiful Faroe archipelago to the Dubai-like summer heat of Italy.
Mitsubishi CRJ-900 Operators
CR9 is by far the most popular version of the latest iteration of CRJ lineup (whose production was closed by Mitsubishi in 2020) with 487 units delivered, but nevertheless it looks kind of exotic compared to other regional jets: Embraers and A220s.
It would be useful to list the current CR9 operators and their layouts.
1) Arik Air: 3 units (C10_Y65). All the units are parked.
2) China Express Airlines: 33 units (C3_Y86). 6 units are parked.
3) CityJet: 5 units (Y88) plus 11 units (Y90). 14 units operating for SAS with 2 of them parked.
4) Endeavor Air: 7 units (C12_Y58) plus 116 units (C12_Y64), operating for Delta Connection. 6 units are parked.
5) Ibom Air: 7 units (Y90).
6) Iraqi Airways: 6 units (Y90). 3 units are parked.
7) Jazz Air: 35 units (C12_Y64), operating for Air Canada Express. 5 units are parked.
8) Libyan Airlines: 2 units (C7_Y68). All the units are parked.
9) Lufthansa CityLine: 23 units (CY90). 1 unit is stored.
10) Petroleum Air Services: 3 units (Y90).
11) PSA Airlines: 88 units (C12_Y64), operating for American Eagle. 8 units are parked.
12) RwandAir: 2 units (C7_Y68). All the units are parked.
13) SkyWest Airlines: 28 units (C12_Y64) and 12 units (C12_Y58) mostly operating for Delta Connection (7 units are parked), plus 3 units (C9_Y56) with 2 parked ones, plus 17 parked units.
14) Uganda Airlines: 4 units (C12_Y64).
Copenhagen Kastrup Airport (CPH)
CPH is located not far from Copenhagen and has fast and convenient connection with the city centre by metro or railway.
CPH has 2 merged terminals: T2 and T3, spanning over large area. Domestic SAS flights operate from D-gates of T3.
The Aircraft
My flight from Copenhagen to Malpensa was operated by 2017-built EI-FPS with Y90 layout.

The Cabin
The cabin consists of 90 seats in the standard 2-2 layout. Some of the front rows can be used for "eurobusiness" depending on the load.
Some cabin photos during boarding:

The Economy Seat
My seat 22F is located in the rear part of the cabin. The seat is narrow (17.0") due to the narrow CRJ fuselage, but has decent padding and feels comfortable. The seat has leather upholstery, tray table and seat pocket. The row pitch is OK.

The seatpocket content: safety card and buy-on-board menu.

The overhead panel is standard for newer CRJs.

The Flight

The service consisted only of drinks. The crew were nice.
