Intro $ TPE Airport

So my birthday was a month ago and my friends and I always wanted to go on a plane together, so we chose this

Given that it was the middle of October, and also 5:20 AM, TPE was not the most busy. However, it did have some decent lines forming.

Check-in was done online the previous night, so all we had to do was pick up the boarding passes. The kiosk for some reason wasn't recognizing our passports, so we had to go to a worker to get help. It took around 15 minutes, but eventually we got it. Had we not gone to the worker, we would have had those plain, white, boring ones. But instead, we got a cute snoopy one.

Our flight was JX233, with a 8:00 AM scheduled departure time, and a 9:55 AM scheduled arrival time.

Security was quick, and we quickly found out that we messed up. We wanted to go to T2 to eat breakfast, but JX233 departs from T1, and we didn't know you had to go to T2 before security. So instead, we had an off-brand McDonald's for breakfast. It wasn't that bad actually.

Our gate was B6, which has this big waiting area with huge windows. Unfortunately, the views weren't the best, and you were only able to see the plane to the right of your gate.

Did some planespotting. (TR876 to NRT, unknown registration, B-16721 arrived as BR35, some nice clouds and a nice sunrise

Taking us to VHHH today was B-58202, the 5 year old A321neo that was delivered to Starlux in 2020. It has 8 business class seats in a 2-2 configuration, and 180 economy seats in a 3-3 configuration.

Plane and flight

Boarding was called on time (~7:30 AM,) and I soon found myself on a seat with this amazing engine view. This was actually the second ever time I've sat this far forward.

The seat came with a safety card, a magazine, and a pair of headphones.

It also had an IFE and an extendable tray table.

The captain soon came over the intercom and announced that we would be ready in around 10 minutes. However, we would end up waiting around 25 minutes.

Pushback began at 8:07 AM, 7 minutes behind schedule.

We eventually took off at around 8:35 AM, after a 25-minute taxi.

Around 10 minutes after departure, the meal service began. We were served some sort of noodles along with fruit, apple juice, and a bag of egg rolls.

It was good! (I'm afraid of the taste of some meat)

The IFE had an above-average amount of movies, and a lot of other things, including games, and music.

Around 30 minutes prior to arrival, we started our descent, initially descending to FL280.

At 10:03, we touched down on VHHH's 07L.

Some planes I saw during the taxi in.

After around a 15 minute taxi to gate S64 ( or something like that), we finally shut down, and we're let off the plane.

All in all, decent experience for a 1 hour

Conclusion

They're a good airline! Their A350 long haul is on my bucket list, and I would 100 percent fly them again, on any of their aircraft.
