On the 11th of January in 2024, I took KLM flight 1004 from Heathrow to Amsterdam. I flew in business class with the airline. I arrived at the airport nice and early for the flight, and by that I mean I stayed in a hotel overnight. Aircraft below is the China Eastern A330 from somewhere - not entirely sure I think from either Wuhan or somewhere else in China.

I did some more plane spotting from my hotel room. Below (in order) are the British Airways 777, Emirates A380-800 and (this is a very bad photo) but of the Saudia 787 and another KLM 737.

After my planespotting, I checked in for my flight using the priority check in at Terminal 4. The staff were very good and it was easy to check in.

After checking in, KLM business passengers are given priority security and so that was very quick and easy as well. Everything felt very streamlined through the airport, which is uncharacteristic for Heathrow. Terminal 4, though is a bit cramped and busy, is one of my favourite terminals in the world because of all of the families saying goodbye to people and its where all of the cooler, more unknown airlines are located.
KLM uses the Plaza Premium lounge, well at least at the time I was flying, at it was a nice stop before the flight. I was not just going to Amsterdam, I was continuing on to Sydney, Australia via Amsterdam and Hong Kong, so it was good before a long flight, even if this one was short. Below are some images relating to the lounge.

There were some plane models of some of the airlines that use this lounge. Below is a depiction of Air Astana from Kazakhstan and two Saudia models, showing two different liveries.

Here are some more pictures from the lounge.

I boarded the aircraft and we left on time, which was good as I had a shorter layover in Amsterdam than I had anticipated.

The seats on board where the same as in economy class, just with a blocked middle seat. This was marketed as business class. The seats were comfortable and the legroom wasn’t bad, though when I did this I was quite short. We taxied back and took off towards Amsterdam on our short hop.

However before we took off I still fit in a bit more planespotting. In order, a private jet, I think it is the Qatari Amiri Flight A330 which is pretty cool. Then the One Air 747, Saudia 787, Egyptair Cargo A330 and then an Iberia A330 to Madrid. So quite a good showing of some cool aircraft.

The seat was pretty baron and I didn’t have much to do. There was no TV, as usual, but it was a bit boring. I just watched a movie on my phone - so I would say bring entertainment. My plane did have Wifi but it was for a fee and, for an hour and a bit flight it was not worth it.
Beneath is the food. It was cold, but tasted nice and was unexpectedly good. I ate a lot of it, and it is just nice that there is still food served on these little short routes. I also liked the box design. There was also a macron, which was very tasty.

Here are some more pictures.

2: Lufthansa A320neo, a TAP Portugal, two Vuelings and a KLM
3: 2 Transavia 737’s
4: 2 KLM 737’s and a massive Delta A330

Some more aircraft to end off the review:
1: JetBlue A320 from America
2: Close up of the Delta A330 with a KLM in the back

Overall, KLM’s eurobusiness class is very good, and competitive. The seat was very comfortable, though could have been better, and the inflight meal was tasty and has a good box. The flight was successful and the crew were amazing.
Upon landing I was allowed into the cockpit and talked to the pilot. Absolutely amazing experi
Hi there, thanks for sharing your first review here with us and welcome! It's a shame that KLM haven't updated the cabins of the 737-700s like they have with the 800s. Understandably, they intend to retire them soon, hence not worth the investment, but they're still hanging around and the cabins look very tired.
