INTRO

Welcome to this FR. Today we are traveling from Athens to Santorini. It will be our first time flying Aegean so we have high expectations.
Today, there was a taxi strike, so getting to the airport was a little bit tricky because buses were full and so was the metro, since we needed to make our way to the airport at the peak morning time. We were eventually able to get on a bus and then on a packed metro, nevertheless, made it to the airport.

CHECK-IN AND LOUNGE

Started at the Aegean domestic baggage drop for a very quick check-in

Security was extremely fast and 2 minutes later we were airside

Following the signs to the lounge, where we had access thanks to Priority Pass.

First stop: Skyserv lounge. Nothing to write about. Spent two minutes and it was so disappointing that we did not even take pictures. Skip this place.

We decided to go to the Goldair lounge. Definitely worth the extra 3 minute walk.

Conclusion

Short flight and expected service. Fast check-in and security but messy boarding process. Great flight crew, and surprisingly, pilots were our tour guides, narrating what we were seeing on each side of the airplane. ATH was a great airport, as JTR was. Both airports really accessible with several options. Definitely will do the same route again.

  • Thanks for sharing, this bring back good memories of a trip to Greece a few years ago. The service on domestic routes is simple and predictable, but decent. It clearly hasn't changed much since it was nearly an identical experience pre-Covid, with the messy boarding and all, haha.
