Good morning from a VERY HOT Las Vegas. It was a little over 40 degrees recording this the day before!

Fast forward to 04:30am, as we leave the bright lights of Vegas behind us.

Las Vegas, like most U.S. airports, display the airlines kerbside, so you can dropped off at the correct area for check-in and bag drop.

This flight cost $381.20 per person (equating to £282.89 or €324.55, one-way, inclusive of checked luggage, seat selection and taxes).

The bag drop and check-in area was very quiet, with lots of staff on hand to help.

Through security, we headed to the nominated Priority Pass lounge which is 'The Club at LAS'.

Though it was closed, due to refurbishments. The alternative 'The Club at LAS' was open in Terminal 1 - Concourse D, which is fortunately where we are due to depart from today.

LAS must be then only airport in the world with a dedicated gaming lounge airside? Correct me if I'm wrong?

On the way to the D Gates transit train, there was a Las Vegas exhibition showcasing various displays and artwork.

Once over at the D gates there was time to watch the sunrise through the massive floor to ceiling windows that look out on to the apron.

Spot the Delta!

We then located the alternative 'The Club at LAS' lounge.

The lounge is average at best. The spacing and seating is okay with more comfortable and private areas behind the glass screen to the left, but as you'll see the food and beverage offering is poor…

Overcooked everything, anyone?

We did get a nice view of our aircraft though, which is an Airbus A330-200 showcasing Disney's special 'Lilo and Stitch' livery.

And this has to be one of my favourite tail fins of all time, for sure!

Time to board - all done by groups, or 'zones' as Hawaiian calls them.

Seating is in a 2 / 4 / 2 configuration in Economy.

And here were our seats for the next 6-odd hours, 35H and 35J. The window blinds were down and we were asked not to raise them immediately owing to the blistering Vegas heat. This helps keep the aircraft a bit cooler before the APU kicks in.

Everywhere you look, Lilo and Stitch artwork is tastefully presented! The children on-board seemed to love it.

Legroom is average on-board, but not uncomfortable.

I couldn't resist a sneak peek. And with that we pushed back…

…and roared into the sky out of LAS. Love Vegas or loathe Vegas, you can't deny it's a great view!

And the continued views on the climb out did not disappoint.

And the crew then began their services. Firstly, a paid for service for anyone who wanted to purchase snacks or items from their cafe offering.

Then the complimentary on-board service began.

The offering was a turkey sausage, egg, cheese and mustard mayonnaise breakfast muffin. And whatever it looks like, I can confirm it was exceptionally good. If you're going to include eggs in a breakfast, this is the way to serve them!

The husband wishes to report to the Flight-Report community that it was 'essentially a McDonalds McMuffin'.

And the drink of choice to today… Hawaiian rum punch! I hate my job.

Time to try out the Wi-Fi. Hawaiian Airlines offers complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi to all customers, in all cabins.

And with speeds of roughly 200Mbps, streaming, working and video calling are now all possible. This is going to revolutionise air travel!

The cabin lights were then dimmed. This one threw me a bit, I can't lie. A 07:50am departure from LAS, landing into HNL mid-morning at around 11:00am. Anyone care to share any insight as to why?

The IFE was responsive and came with a USB-A charging point.

Beautiful views over the Pacific Ocean today.

I used the toilet facilities around half way into the flight. They were very clean. No complaints.

As we approached the island of O'ahu, the cabin crew started to hand out Department of Agriculture declaration cards.

We were then handed a 'snack' prior to landing, in the form of a chocolate chip Honolulu Cookie.

This was GREAT. Although small, and not really a final 'snack' offering in my opinion, it was a great marketing tool for the brand. We became hooked and ate quite a few of these during our stay in Honolulu.

And that was it, we began our bank towards O'ahu on the descent. And the views were some of the best I've ever witnessed.

Just look at the colour of that sea!

And with that…

…we were down!

We now have 4 days to explore Honolulu before flying on again. Thanks for reading and watching!
Nice report as always! Totally agree that Starlink Wi-Fi is revolutionising travel. In a very short time, many airlines have adopted Starlink or other fast satellite Wi-Fi (Viasat/Intelsat) and began offering it for free in order to compete with other that are doing so. It's so nice to see airlines once again competing on product and offering a better experience at no additional charge.
A widebody with in-seat IFE, free fast Wi-Fi, and a free meal is about as good as it can get in Economy on a US domestic flight. I'm really looking forward to HA finally officially joining oneworld officially in Spring of 2026 so I can finally earn BA Avios and Tier Points on HA!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much, Kevin! Totally agree - it’s great to see airlines really investing in the passenger experience again. Starlink has been a real game-changer, and once Hawaiian joins oneworld, it’s going to make their network even more appealing for frequent flyers. Exciting times ahead!
Thanks for sharing James, HA is definitely the most premium Y offering to the continent on what are very competitive routes into the West Coast cities with their complimentary hot snacks, complimentary Wi-Fi, and on-point branding. It will be interesting to see how they evolve post AS merger (brand dillution) and expansion of operations to support OW membership. I already saw a HA B789 in ICN operating the ICN-SEA route for AS, a big step away from their cultural identity.
That's a 04:50 departure HNL time, most people likely had been up since 01:00-02:00 HNL time. It's the same reason they are dimmed on daytime TPACs.
