After a very enjoyable flight and an on-time arrival with Air France Hop! arriving from Bilbao, Spain, it was now time for me to transit from Terminal 2G to Terminal 2F by bus. The transit is self-explaining, but could be tight with the amount of time I had left and I would definitely recommend to give yourself a bit more time to transit in CDG if you are able to book a flight by yourself though.

By the time the bus dropped me off in Terminal 2F, I had about 35 minutes left for my next flight with the boarding time to be scheduled ten minutes from now. So far all information given to us via departure screens and Air France's website, the flight was still departing on time, which I highly doubted as the aircraft that was scheduled to be flying us to Amsterdam literally just left Toulouse with an hour delay…

Given that my caffeine was running low, I decided to grab a cup of coffee in the first coffeeshop I came across, which turned out to be Starbucks. My preferences would have gone to a different coffeeshop, however Starbucks at this time had plenty of seating available with a socket nearby as some of my devices were running low on battery and I would like to have them charged.

About twenty minutes later or so I decided to head to the upper floor for the departure areas and find gate F53 where my flight was supposed to be, yet the screens still told me that the flight was going to depart on-time with no sight of our aircraft and no information given to us well after our scheduled departure time.

While I am not a huge fan of CDG myself, I do admit that I kind of enjoy the architecture of the terminal. The pier also offers plenty of seating for the flights, however finding an available seat may be a challenge so now and then as the piers tend to become overcrowded or people just occupying more than the necessary seats. Occassionally you will find a passenger laying down on like four seats and not giving a damn to other passengers comfort.

Eventually found a seat near the gate that our flight was intended to depart from, but only to be followed by an announcement that Air France's flight to Amsterdam was changed to gate F56 and that the flight was delayed by fourty-five minutes due to the late arrival of the aircraft…. Well I could have told you that much sooner than it was announced as this information was only given to us right on our scheduled departure time.

Boarding was called about thirty minutes past our scheduled departure time and one of the benefits of upgrading your first leg to J class is that one will be able to use some of their sky priority benefits on the second leg like priority boarding.

Charles de Gaulle airport isn't the best airport to spot aircraft and this has been the best photo of our aircraft that I could have taken in Paris as well as in Amsterdam.

Today's flight would be performed by F-HPNI, which is a 1.1 year old (time of flying) Airbus A220-300 that has been solely flying for Air France and is named after the French city ''Sancerre'', a city well known for their delicious wines.

It will also be my first time flying Air France's A220.

Upon embarking the aircraft, we were kindly greeted by two flight attendants and eventually made my way to seat 21A. The cabin on the A220's is in a 2-3 configuration where I strongly suggest to opt for one of the seats on the left hand side of the cabin as you will only need to bother a single other person during your flight if you are alone rather than two if seated by a window seat.

By now I reached my seat for today and my neighbour was already located in his seat only to realize that he was using the same exact cabin luggage as I did. This is going to be fun to sort out luggages the moment we have to disembark.

The cabin though does look modern and neat.

I'm about 1.83m (6'') tall and I must admit that legroom isn't the best on AF's A220's though as my knees were hitting the seat occassionally when I had to move around. Not a lot of padding on the seat, but given the length of the flight it would not pose any issue though.

photo 20250720_144630

The view from seat 21A is great though.

Air France also decided to equiped their aircraft with individual airvents and reading lights, however I'm quite surprised to see that Air France opted out on those overhead IFE's unlike Swiss or Air Baltic, though WiFi was installed with the same rates KLM is applying to theirs. This means that you are able to pay for a stream or surf pass for faster internet, however messaging is complimentary to all passengers.

The seat itself however was quite modern with a few features. One could charge their device with either a USB-A or USB-C plug, a coathook could be found on the lefthand side of the seat and you can find a cupholder, phoneholder and your usual table. Literature was non existing other than a saferty card and a sick bag.

The phoneholder fully deployed.

A view of the cabin that by now was fully prepared and ready to go.

Exactly forty-five minutes past our scheduled departing time we were pushing back for our flight to Amsterdam.

photo 20250720_152003

Right behind another A220-300 of Air Baltic we were rolling down 27R for our departure to Amsterdam at 15.26.

The moment the fasten seatbelt signs were turned off, I decided to inspect the table which was spotlessly clean.

And not much later the flight attendants started their complimentary snack and beverage service. The sandwich served on today's flight was a Mediterranean sandwich with a spread of marinated vegetables, which isn't that memorable and not too bad. I kindly requested a can of sparkling water next to my sandwich.

By now I was having a chat with my neighbour who was transitting through Amsterdam to head over to Las Vegas. Due to the delay of this flight, the chap had about 35 minutes left in Amsterdam to make it to it's next flight and I told him that he should rush though in order to get there rather sooner than later.

By now we were well into our landing at the most distant runway available in Amsterdam touching down at 16.11.

photo 20250720_161113

About thirteen minutes past our landing time we were finally docking at our gate next to a Boeing 737-700 of KLM. By now I informed the chap the moment he gets out to turn right as he asked me for pointers.

Took my time and decided to slowly walk to the exit of the airport where my wife was picking me up to go home.

That concludes the report and thanks for stopping by as usual!

Conclusion

Second leg of my itinerary to get home. Flight attendants were friendly in their interaction, a complimentary sandwich and drink in Y class and a comfy cabin with limited legroom. The design of the cabin is great and the A220 is a bless to be on.

  • Thanks for sharing !

Air France's Airbus A220 is such an handsome aircraft, I had the chance to ride it three times in the past.

The cabin looks very modern and well equipped, and the 3-2 layout is very comfortable traveling as a couple when you opt for the double side of the cabin.

A standard intra-European flight in Economy with AF with a good service for a short flight.

    See you soon!
