Flight routing

Early Morning at Denver

On the way to KDEN, we had spectacular views of the early morning over the prairies. As we got close to the end of our 8-10 hour layover, it was time to head back.

TSA lines were very short this morning, and the train to A gates was very quick. Terminal A has a small selection of places for breakfast, with the Einstein Bagels being the closest to our gate at A36.

N880UA without United Next

We originally when we booked this flight, it was a A319 featuring the United Next cabin, but about a week before our trip, the aircraft was swapped to the older cabin. It seems the new cabin is hit or miss as United continues to retrofit its fleet.

Clean seat and good legroom

Cleanliness for some reason correlated with the type of cabin throughout my itinerary on United. Similar to my flight from Houston to Calgary, this pre-next cabin on the A319 was very clean, whereas when I flew on the 737-900 or E175 none of the seats were at this level of cleanliness.

Besides the cleanliness, the seat features a tray table with a cup cutout, a card holder, large pocket, and Universal Power Outlet. Recline was also available.

Great crew on todays flight!

Our flight attendant for this flight resolved a seat issue where someone was sitting in another passengers location, in a quick and effective manner. United has excelled many times in cabin crew service throughout all my flights.

Personal In-Flight Entertainment and In-flight messaging

As with all pre-next aircraft, UnitedWifi.com was available with a decent selection of movies and tv-shows, along with free messaging. The free-messaging was fast enough to slowly send images, and included access to FlightAware. However, it was still unfortunate that no IFE was available.

Smooth ride to Dallas with a whole can of sprite!

We departed early, and would arrive even earlier as we made up time on the way to Dallas. Todays flight has breakfast tacos, a bagel breakfast melt, and everything bagel dots. I appreciate United for having three warm options, one being vegetarian for breakfast.

Like all other flights, complimentary snacks were available, including the Stroopwafel, along with a variety of complimentary drinks including coffee/tea, orange juice, and soda. Today, the flight attendant gave me the entire can of Sprite, which was very generous!

Conclusion

While it was unfortunate that this aircraft did not have the United Next Interior mentioned on the booking page, the awesome cabin crew service, clean cabin, and complimentary service made up for it. The experience was hassle-free, and the great service was nice after a long layover.
