A speedy check-in with enthusiastic and helpful ground staff!
Flight routing

We had trouble checking in our flight online, due to issues with the passport scanning. The check-in agent was very enthusiastic and guided us through the check-in process at the Self-Check In kiosks. TSA times were only a few minutes, and the airport was overall pretty quiet for a Saturday morning, in comparison to bustling Terminal C.

Speedy boarding process and carry-ons gate checked
After some plane-spotting and gaming at the Terminal E Gameway, we began boarding the 9 year old E175 (long-wing variant), operated by Mesa Airlines. Our carry-ons were gate checked free of charge prior to entering the plane.

Was planning on taking Air Canada through Toronto, but I knew that the one hour connection would not be enough for the immigration lines and Toronto delays. 😅
Modest seat for less than one hour flight.
The seat has a small pocket, tray table, larger pocket, and recline. Was a bit uncomfortable but the legroom and seat coushining were fine for todays short flight.

Lots of plane-spotting and view of Terminal E from the air!

United has flights to all of their hubs in the lower 48 from DFW, with flights operating frequently from E5, E6, E7, and other gates on this side of the terminal.

You can see a little bit of the Alaska plane with my poor camera quality. Alaska recently moved all operations to DFW after ceasing operations at Love Field. Virgin America used to operate flights from Dallas Love Field, and the route was later taken over by Alaska Airlines. Love Field is now almost entirely JSX and Southwest, with the exception of Delta which operates flights to and from Atlanta daily.

A view of Terminal E from the air!

On the bottom left corner of image, you can see the remnants of one of the main runways that made up Greater Southwest Airport, Fort-Worth's original airport prior to DFW. American Airlines headquarters is now located right across from where it once was.
Uneventful and short cruise
Dallas to Houston is a very quick route, so short that our cruise lasted only 18 seconds. Due to this, there was no food or drink service on this flight. However, the IFE system was enabled the entire flight from gate to gate.
Wi-Fi is available at $8 for mileage plus, and $10 for non-milage plus with streaming included. Starlink Free Wi-Fi was available last month on the E-175, but after some time it was removed due to issues.
As for the free content, a handful of movies and tv-shows were available, though the selection wasn't that great. Free-messaging was available, along with free access to Flightaware and the United website. Appreciate that United made FlightAware accessible for free, as it helps a lot with looking at details for connections!
Something else I would like to note is the complimentary kids coloring kit and wings given throughout the cabin, due to many babies crying. Uniteds cabin crew service was awesome on todays flight!

Storms around Houston and the size of the E-175 made a pretty turbulent approach into IAH.

We arrived at the section of B gates, reserved exclusively for regional flights.
