JAPAN AIRLINES 767 Business class from HND-SIN
Hey Y’all, Welcome back to Winged Reviews! This flight is part of a much longer trip which you can find below. We are starting in the JAL Sakura Lounge because we had about a 7 hour layover between the flight from Dallas and the flight to Singapore. The time went by pretty fast. Feel free to watch my video and check out the rest of my reports. Enjoy!

AIRPORT
After we followed the signs for the international connections it led us to the main terminal. There was a lo of good plane spotting here.

JAL SAKURA LOUNGE
Since we were flying out in business class we had access to the Sakura lounge. We had a hard time finding it because it was kind of out of the way but when we finally made it there was two options. The lounge has two levels, the 4th floor has showers and the 5th does not. You cannot transfer between the floors when you pick one. We went with the bottom one and we were very pleases with it. There was a lot of seating and floor to ceiling windows which made a lot of natural light come in and had great views. The amenities for the 4th floor are free showers, wifi, food, lockers, and a massage chair room.

There was a wind range of food and drink options. It was mostly self serve but there was a small made to order menu. The food was pretty good and there was so many people that it was costly being replaces. One of my favorite thing in the lounge was a rice serving machine that when you put a bowl under it and select a size it will dispense a ball of rice.

I got some udon noodles and miso along with some rice and beef.

With the floor to ceiling window the views were fantastic except for the light post that was right in the way. I did not get a picture of it but the public viewing deck is to the right of the lounge and loos over this section of the airport.

After the long lounge visit we headed to the gate. The airport had cleared out, when we landed there was noting but crowds and now it was super empty we were like the only flight leaving.

BOARDING
Right before boarding had started all of the gate agents lined up (There were 14 of them which was crazy) and took a bow before they starting boarding. The boarding was very efficient and we were one of the first people on the plane.

SEAT
Welcome to seat 4A this was a window seat on the left side of the aircraft. On this aircraft there were 24 JAL Sky Suite II seats based on the Thompson Aero Vantage platform. They were in a 1-2-1 configuration with alternating seats closer to the window. In the back there was 175 economy seats in a 2-3-2 configuration. At first glance this was not to bad but it was loaded with stuff. The seat had an amenity kit, blanket, pillow, headphones, slippers, heat mask, and a water bottle. There was also a few magazines, safety card, seat instructions, and air sickness bag. The seat was pretty comfortable and it was a little more private with the storage container on the left side in-between me and the aisle.

This is a better picture of the seat I took after the flight.

During boarding the flight attendants came through the cabin and gave us a menu and a little introduction. They then took our order for the meal before landing. There was a little miscommunication and I ordered a ramen cup right after takeoff. I also ordered the Japanese breakfast.
This was the menu for todays flight excluding the alcohol.

After a quick boarding we started to push back and I was surprised to see the number of 767 sitting on this side of the airport.

We had a quick taxi to the runway.

The view were so good!

Right after takeoff the FA came by and dropped off the SOBA De Sky ramen along with the other plate. I also got the JAL original drink, It was so good and I highly recommend you try it if you fly with them. The ramen was really good but steaming hot. The meal was served with JAL: metal cutlery and chopsticks.

After that I took a pretty long nap. The seat was not to comfortable as a bed, there was really no padding and the lights from the seat controls were right in your face. I am 5'9 and my toes were barley touching the back of the footwell. I also thought the area around my shoulders was a little constricting. It definitely beat trying to sleep in economy though.

I got up to use the forward restroom before the breakfast started. I found this on the counter to the right of the bathroom. It was a very nice setup and everything you would need was right there. I of course got some chocolates. The flight attendants were sitting down to the right if you wanted to get anything from the anytime menu.

BATHROOM
There was a lot in this tiny bathroom. Starting on the right there is a baby changing table that folds down along with disposable toilet seat covers. On the counter there was hand sanitizer, lotion, body mist, toothbrush/toothpaste, and mouthwash. It also had little cups, tissues, and paper towels. This is definitely the most stuff i have seen in a lavatory before. This lav was VERY clean. The flight attendants cleaned and fixed it after every use, I was able to tell this because the toilet paper was folded. This was a very old plane and I had two issues. The first was that the lav had a weird air draft coming from the top vent and it was blowing directly on my head. The second was that the sink was not really draining very fast and kind of pooling up. This is very understandable and was not to bad.

AMENITY KIT
This amenity kit definitely left something to be desired. The steam mask was on the side table when I first got to the seat so that was not even in the kit. The kit came with a moisture mask, tooth brush, eye mask, and ear plugs. The bag was ok quality. This is definitely a down grade from the brand new A350-1000 business class I flew into Japan on.

Japan Airlines has a gift basket for kids flying in business and I was able to get this model of the A350-1000. The other option was one of those remove before flight tags with the A350 on it or a toy play that you pull back and it moves forward. This was a very nice touch.

BREAKFAST SERVICE
An hour or so before landing the service started. They first came around and gave us this drink. It tasted like a sweet apple juice and it was pretty good.

The Japanese breakfast was served on one tray, I elected to go with the JAL original drink again. The main dish was fish and it definitely tasted fishy. It was not to bad just not really my thing. The little cup on the right was hot miso soup and it was really good. The bamboo looking block on the left was a block of steamed rice which was very moist and steaming hot. It also came with a pair of chop sticks and metal JAL cutlery.

This was the western breakfast option that my dad had.

I was sill hungry after so I went with another soba de sky with was really good!

After that we were coming into land in Singapore.

I could not believe that I spotted the Singapore airlines A380!

Welcome to Singapore Changi Airport!!
