It's always a breeze to arrive into LCY. Just a quick ride on the DLR for me, and the shortest walk ever into the terminal. It really is the most convenient airport in London (in my humble opinion).

Check-in e-kiosks are available on the walk down from the DLR and pre the main departure hall.

Always great views from the terminal, too. Loving this ITA Airways livery!

Got the chance to watch the special manoeuvre here, too. Not a single pushback-tug in sight!

Boarding started 10 minutes before schedule - a rarity with BA but quite a regular occurrence when flying from LCY.

Boarding groups were promptly enforced, too. As sad it sounds to say this, I'm always glad that they are. People do work hard for status (harder than ever now after the recent BA Club changes), so all perks should be available to the customer and not on a "we'll see how we feel on the day" approach. I've never had any issues out of LCY but at LHR/LGW it really is hit and miss when it comes to the boarding process.

Today's aircraft, this near 16 year old Embraer E190.

10D is my seat today, and the aisle seat is free, too! I've noticed this happen more and more when flying Cityflyer.

The legroom is the real winner on Cityflyer, though.

After boarding, the heavens opened and we were caught in the midst of a mini-thunderstorm. Our Captain reassured us though that there would be no delay to departure, just a more 'bumpier' ride than usual up through the clouds.

It always amazes me the angle of attack when departing LCY. You climb so quickly!

Once above the clouds, the sun started shining and I stretched out for this short hop down to Barcelona.

James, the Cabin Crew member (a great name!), started the service promptly. All drinks and snacks (including alcohol) are complimentary on Cityflyer which is different when flying BA's regular short haul operation where you receive a pre-selected snack and a bottle of water.

I opted for Brewdog's "Speedbird OG", their transatlantic IPA. Admittedly, I don't usually like Brewdog beer, and I find the brand to be quite over-hyped, but this was really tasty! I also remember when BA ran the competition to design the can - whoever did the design for this, I salute you - it's very British and certainly on point with the BA branding!

Alongside this was a packet of ready salted a"Just Glorious Crisps". Also, very good! It was like being in my very own pub in the sky.

Lovely views and weather on the route down to BCN.

Which ended rapidly as we started to descend into yet another thunderstorm, this time at BCN. The Captain joked that she had never simultaneously took off from and landed into two thunderstorms!

But despite a bumpy ride, we landed safely as always, and I headed off to my hotel before starting my journey back to the terminal to review Air Europa's Boeing 787 Dreamliner service. That'll be coming soon! Thanks for reading/watching - I really appreciate it.
Thanks for sharing, rather surprising that BA provides a 100 percent complimentary service on his regional subsidiary, I didn't know at all !
See you soon
Well now you do! I'll toast you with a gin and tonic!!!
