This report is from March 2025. I transited through Hyderabad to travel on a Air India Express, Read the flight report - Indigo 6E7564 Kolhapur to Hyderabad.
Transit time between flights was 3hrs.
Pre-Departure
Air India Express ticket was booked through the airline website.
I didn't select any add-ons during the booking.
My final destination was Kolkata.
Selected the seat 5F in the forward cabin.
Total journey time: 6h 40m
I had paid using credit card and itinerary was emailed. The booking process was easy.
Online check-in
Online check-in was available through website and app. I had installed the AIX app in the phone and received regular emails and whatsapp messages to upgrade to Biz and for the check-in.
Logged in the website with Last name and booking no.
Added email address to receive the boarding pass.
Email sent to provided address.
Hyderabad Departures
I explored the arrival area and then took a escalator to Departures.

Reached the entry gate.
At the entry gate, passengers can use the Digiyatra QR code or manual check to enter the terminal. As my QR code would not work, I used the manual check to enter. Showed the booking details and passport, I was allowed to continue.
Check-in
I had checked the gate and then entered the check-in area.
Air India Express check-in counters. I reached the bag drop counter without waiting as there was no queue. Handed the passport and booking paper. Placed my bag on the scale. Ground crew checked the bag till Kolkata.
I received two boarding passes, one to Indore and other to Kolkata.
Security check
After completing check-in, proceeded to security check. To enter the security area, passengers have to scan the boarding pass.
I placed all my gadgets in a tray and handbag in another. Passed through the x-ray scanner to collect bag at the other end.
Departure area
Completed the security check and entered the departure area. There is a information kiosk for those requiring information. Passed through the shops.
Plenty of space to walk through. Airport is spacious and bright.

When one has nothing to do, need to keep busy. I had a strawberry sundae from BK.
✈ Spotting
I returned to gate and stood near window to planespot as runway 27R-09L was in use. Saw aircraft's taxi in front of the terminal.

I was seated in the forwards section, joined the queue when the row was called.
After scanning the boarding pass, passengers have to take escalator to lower floor.

Cabin service
On attaining cruising altitude, seat belt sign was switched off.
Crew commenced Buy on Board service. Those passengers who had paid for meal addons were serviced followed by those purchasing onboard.

Flying close to Ajanta and Ellora in Maharashtra.
Tourism Bonus:
Ajanta and Ellora are two famous world heritages sites in Maharashtra.
Ajanta is the location of the unique temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, which was built by chiselling volcanic basalt from top to bottom in 8th century CE period - 1,200 years old! , read here - Kailasa temple.
You will not find any architecture like it, anywhere in the world.
I have been to both the sites. Unbelievable, was awestruck.

Aircraft landed on runway 25. After slowing down, cabin crew made announcement.

I did not exit the terminal, instead went to the security inside the terminal manning the departure entry, showed the boarding pass and entered the check-in area. I found a seat and settled for few minutes.
