Namaste everyone
Today we are flying a short hop from Varanasi (VNS) to my homebase Lucknow (LKO) this is one of the few flights that I have flown within my state. This one again is with IndiGo (6E) and on one of my favourite airrcafts (Turboprops) ATR 72-600.This is a short 40-50 Minutes flight but it does get almost a full load which is good for the airline.

Welcome to Lal Bahadur Shastri,International Airport, Departures area of the terminal. This airport has just one foreign airline oeprating at the moment i.e Buddha Air with flights to Kathmandu (KTM) the other being Air India Express connecting Sharjah (SHJ).It does have many flights connecting various Indian cities though Its a small airport its enough for the city size of Varanasi. The only thing I deslike about this airport is its location which is way too outside of the city however, if there are regular shuttle buses or a metro rail link made to connect to the main city it would be just fine.

Today we are flying with (6E)'s regional power horse ATR 72-600 Reg [VT-IYD].IndiGo has about close to 50 of these beauties and I always enjoy flying these buzzing birds. The Cabin aboard the 6E ATRs is spacious and well maintained as far as I've experienced most of my 6E ATR flights however, some of their older ATRs do show signs of ageing and I hope they fix 'em.
Talking about the legspace and seat pocket contents then for me its always been good be it on ATRs or 320s or widebodies so no complains and seat pocket has basic contents comprising of a safety instructions card,6E Magazine cum Menu booklet and thats all.

We took off with a little delay but shortly after taking off the crew prompted its inflights services obviously serving those with pre-booked mals prior to asissting others who wished to buy on board.
I had already pre booked my snack which was a salted cashew nut tin collectible box and a complimentary beverage to go with it which was a fruit juice for me.Now I dont know why 6E stopped serving beverage items as Cans or bottled juice etc but I hope they bring it back cause I prefer to have a bottled juice or canned juice over being served in a paper cup.Taste wise however, everything was fine so no major issues with the taste.

This is a very short flight so no sooner had we cruised at 10000 FT that we started our descent towards my homebase,Lucknow.
I do admire the crew for being on their toes and how they manage to do the service even on such short sectors and at times we overlook at their efforts and how much it matters to passengers' overall comfort and safety so big thumbs up to the crew.

And within 30 or so minutes we were over my beautiful home city, Lucknow, preparing to make final approach into RWY 27.
Once again it was a great flight with IndiGo and I hope you all enjoyed this Flight Report.Thank you for flying with me.

i never been to regional jets before but thank you for this flight review. it's kinda short for me when i'm flying smaller jets.
the only fact that regional airplanes is cruise at short altitude.
sometimes, some airlines don't serve food.
regional airports would use this shorter planes, but it's runway is short.
Thanks for going through my Flight Report.Regional aircrafts are fun to fly in especially ATRs which are my favourite among all turbo props also its very fuel efficient so its one of the most popular choices for airlines looking for regional connectivity.
As you mentioned regional planes have an advantage of operating to and from smaller runway airports and connect the smaller towns with big cities and ATR does that job very well.
Thank you for your comment.
